It was certainly funny to see Orla telling Yvonne she was considering barring her from the pub, when Yvonne is her boss.....did the scriptwriters temporarily forget this?
Yvonne did say something about that Louie wouldn't like it if she did. Strange to think that he still owns McCoys.

Didn't Yvonne hire Orla for the job? I definitely remember her coming into the pub several times to check how Orla was getting on.

Yvonne did hire her but she's merely looking after Louis' assets. He still owns the pub

Interesting....it sounds like she is 'unofficially' Yvonne's employer (I certainly don't think Orla would be in any position to be threatening her anyway).

I wonder if there is a lesbian angle coming with Laura and one of the two girls? She probably secretly fancies one of them........
I think it would be more interesting if it was Ama though, how would Damo like that! .. Caoimhe likes Roosters too much ... it would be like when Samantha in Sex and the City had a girlfriend! If Laura's leaving for a few weeks though we'll have to wait and see ... and does this mean Ama will be cooking crimbo dinner for just Damien?

How jelly welly was Paul of the Culchie Cassanova eh ?
Poor Niamh, she's turned into Maeve from this time last year ... instead of "doing whats best for Ben " they have to do "whats best for Callum"
Blah.

Also wasn't Wayne meant to be paying "me ma me ma me ma" every cent he had? An expensive necklace wont go down well for that reason alone ...

Barring someone from a pub for something that happened in a restaurant. Odd.

Loved the little old ladies having a drink in the background!

If I were Laura I would run like the wind too! Having Damien in her ear all the time would do anyone's head in.

Fed up with Jane and her "accidently" letting something slip. However, if Niamh were upfront with Paul (like she was after him to do last week) it wouldn't be an issue. Just tired of this storyline and wish it would end ASAP.

I have to admit, I was hoping Ama would discover that her reluctance to go to bed with Damien (and the mad fella who hired her as an au pair) actually stemmed from her sexuality, which she's been ignoring because of her devout faith, and she would end up in a bit of a triangle with Damien and Laura. Imagine that: Ama makes both brother and sister fall in love with her, and they all have to duke it out for her affections. A much better love triangle than the tedious Jane/Paul rubbish.

lol @ the Culchie Casanova. And good man Tommy for having the nuts to ask Jane out and get some, no string attached.

I wish they'd 'do what's best for Callum' and put him in Borstal or something. Anywhere except in this tedious storyline.

Love the Yvonne/Carol stuff. I can see Dan falling for Yvonne.

Is Laura gone for good or is it just a holiday? It would be typical of FC to give her a sniff of a storyline and then send her packing. I wish they'd finish up with whatever Jane is doing as well. Tis basically the same scenes every night.

I see
Spoiler

No idea about Laura, but I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest.

Isn't it though...Same mantra day in-day out...."I'm his mother" (when it suits her). "I won't ever let you down again" (until tuesday). Enough already!! What is the point of her?

Yvonne has to come back...she just has to!

Seen as the favourite EastEnders 2014 character thread kicked off this afternoon and the other soaps will no doubt soon follow, who wants to set up a Fair City one or should we just declare Jane the winner and be done with it

All hail her!

My vote is split between Paddy the legend Bishop; Yvonne; and Carol, with a special shout out to Kerry-Anne for being great.

Jane is terribly acted.

Yvonne is phenonemal. She's one of the show's best assets. She doesn't get the recognition she should.

The script writing might have something to do with this.

She's been rather one dimensional since she arrived. There's been no explanation as to why she is the way she is (though we did get a confession from her last night that she never loved Callum and never bonded with him).

She might yet end up with Laura only for Caoimhe to suddenly realise her own feelings for Laura and take another of Ama's relationships away from her.

Has there been any mention of Anthony Brady since TJ arrived back. He did mention his mother being useless but nothing yet of his father that I can remember.

2013 character count completed

So do we think Jane has cancer or not?

Is Yvonne leaving or was her heading away for therapy all it was?

I doubt that she does. She's lied about pretty much everything since she arrived; I don't see any reason for her to have changed now. She did say to Tommy as well recently that she would get back on good terms with Callum ,whatever she had to do to achieve it. I do think she'll end up pregnant before too long though. By Tommy not Paul.

Or at least pretend to be pregnant again!

I saw Paddy's murder but then missed the few episodes afterward so I didn't realise the Bishops left. Who did they pin the murder on?

Surprised Fair City got rid of the Bishops. I thought they loved Charlotte.

Wasn't it all a bit pointless then, having Paddy push them causing Charlotte to do this for them all to just leave anyway?

Good job Cuishla, interesting to read results

Fair City are well known for doing shoddy exits when they tire of a character.

I hope they don't go the obvious route, with Paul falling into bed with her in sympathy for her nonexistent cancer, and getting her pregnant, but ever since the Paddy murder story FC have been floundering completely. Even Yvonne's rape story isn't that great. Don't get me wrong: all the actors involved with it have been really good, but the story itself seems to be a bit of a mess, like they don't know what message they're trying to send: girls, don't invite strangers home when you're drunk or you can bring this on yourself, or men, no means no and she can change her mind at any time so stop or you can end up facing prison too. It sort of flip-flops back between the two stances.

I'm calling bullsh*t on this Jane story. There is no way in HELL that anyone would believe that a con artist who has form for lying for money has a few weeks to live unless they get forty grand for a 'special' clinic in the country.

FC are really punishing us after the good run they had last year. I can't believe they expect us to swallow this crap.
