Well, crap, just missed it because of the clash with Corrie. Forgot they changed the Wednesday times, will have to catch up because the trial has me a bit gripped.

Here's a behind the scenes video from them filming the 20th anniversary episode, well worth a look: http://www.rte.ie/arts/2009/0914/fai...nterviews.html

Hi all,

wrote in a week or so back about getting an irish proxy server to watch Fair City. In the middle of the trial, the program is pulled from the RTE player! Anyone know anything about this? It's the only way I could see it for work! Thanks.

I've missed the trial as well due to the abrupt ending of RTEPlayer. So I contacted RTE, and got the reply that it won't be available on the player, and repeats will be at 3 or 3.30 the following afternoons...........a fat lot of good that does people at work!!!

I was really looking forward to the trial although I'm not a regular viewer, I was keen to see the aftermath of Floyd's death.

Anyway, the reply gave no indication if or when it would be back on the Player which is crazy when it is an Irish made programme fgs!! As you can see, I'm still annoyed about it, but hope this helps anyone who may have been thinking of catching up with it during the week.

Can't believe they took it down- don't know anybody who uses RTE player for anything else!

Wish they'd at the least show an omnibus at the weekend again, agree that the repeats are too early!

Disappointing news. That's me well and truly stuffed now. Oh well, just have to keep the old fingers crossed and hope it comes back on the player. This means the offer is back up if anyone fancies taping it and sending it to Scotland to earn a few quid. Thanks for looking into it. Appreciate the help.

Caught a few glimpses of tonight's ep, looked good from what I could make out- would be watching it on the player now if it were possible. Really hope I'm home in time to catch the repeat tomorrow - I saw a second's worth of Heather shaving Brendan's head, seemed pretty heavy stuff.
So Brendan's gone..? I'm a bit disappointed their family's all broken up now, I never liked the three of them but they've grown on me throughout the trial. I've warmed to Brendan a bit, Heather's such a cow that it at least makes them interesting and Eleanor's not so bad these days, kind of cute.

Also noticed the thing with Dean and Tracey has started up again. It would've been better if Dominic was still about, but I think it's still pretty sweet. At first I thought 'no way' at the idea of the two of them together, but somehow now I can totally see it and am willing them on, they're weirdly suited.

Yeah, Brendan's gone on the run to South America. I thought Deegan would have caught him but he didn't. I wonder if the actor minded having his hair cut off

Yeah, definitely a love triangle sparking up between Dean, Tracey and the blonde girl (her name escapes me). Nice to see Tracey about, she hasn't been seen in ages...

Where is Mark Halpin these days? The show definitely needs younger characters. Nice to see Sean Cassidy involved these past few episodes!

Sad news that Joan Brosnan Walsh, the actress who played Mags Kelly, Charlie's wife, lost her battle with Motor Neuron Disease and died today

A real lady and great actress

R.I.P.

Oh yeah, heard about that... very sad indeed. R.I.P

Fair City has been atrocious lately imo. I'm probably just annoyed because it didn't go my way, but the Yvonne story is just blah. I wish they hadn't gotten Niamh and Paul involved. Niamh's sudden desperation for a baby is ridiculous, (she was totally against the idea like, a month ago) as was Paul sleeping with Yvonne so they should've just forgotten about it. Basically what I'm saying is to axe Paul and Niamh or stop getting them involved in potentially good stories, because they're boring as hell.

I think it would've been much more fun if Yvonne and Connie had raised the baby, with Louie being the dad. A much more interesting trio.

The Christmas episode was comical, can't believe I wasted an hour on Christmas watching it.

How tight a budget were they running? For the entire hour? Focusing on only two stories at a time can be great if they're decent stories. Dean and Tracey = dull, and as for the Bulgarian mafia, was that seriously half of their Christmas episode?! Whaaat.

The best thing was Leo's daughter, she's cute.

I did like those end credits on Christmas Day.

And now Paul and Niamh's relationship is in a mess thanks to Paul and Yvonne making love in the elevator

I hope Paul and Niamh get back together as i like them together and they have brilliant on screen chemistry,i can see them getting back together soon and the storyline will completly focus on the baby, somethin dramatic is sure to happen, my prediection is they will be all lookin gforward to bringing up the baby together and Yvonne will change her mind whe shegives birth,

I know I was only joking about the elevator but that episode was funny to watch. Yeah i like paul and niamh together, probably the most realistic couple on the show at the moment. I think they will get back together for Rachels sake but Sean will object and probably move out. I actually like Tracey and Dean together...much better than Dean and Kylie! One couple which really annoy me are Dermot and Jo though...why does Jo speak to him like he's a baby? Grrr!

I also love Wayne back in the show, really happy he returned! I hope it's long term? He's really believeable as Dolores son and the instant disliking to Malachy is good too! Hope there's some good storylines in the pipeline for him? He will probably kidnap baby Jane and runaway with Jane's mum!

Will be interesting to see what happens in the Paul/Niamh/Yvonne/Connie/Louie love pentagon (lol) or whatever it is...

Louie Gleeson is a legend...one of the best characters in the show! He was really funny at the New Years Eve party that time...

Is it just me or does anyone else find Kylie highly irritating? I find it very hard to feel sorry for her! Glad to see Ali go that actress was terrible.

It's a pity they stopped showing it on UTV. I wonder if people in the UK got to see the Billy Meehan story? That was when Fair City was at it's best, and it would've been great for people abroad to have seen it.

On that note, it's time for another gangster story in FC, please!! For as long as I've watched, there's been one every couple of months and it was the best part of the show, but nothing big recently. A lot of them have been picked off, but Mick's still about- and they need to get Carol back involved somehow because it just doesn't suit her being the powerless corner shop manager. I was hoping she'd get with Bob and they'd start rebuilding some sort of empire, get the Galley back, etc... and dodgy gangster deals?!

I'd love Paul to get lost now. Nobody needs him, Rachel can stay and flit between Niamh and Yvonne, she'd be better off. Paul's really, really grating on me now - he's so bland and grumpy.

I don't like Kylie either; she'll probably leave soon, she doesn't have anything left in Carrigstown.

I tend to "dip" in and out of Fair City (now that it isn't on RTE Player especially!), and I see that once more, Paul has been "dipping" again as well!

FGS!! What woman in her right mind would go near him?? He is so boring and let's be honest, not exactly God's gift in the looks department! But apart from all that, hasn't he heard of safe sex??

Seriously though, the writers need to up their game a bit an stop regurgitating Paul as the local Lothario and sperm donor, it really is beyond belief. It's a pity, because himself and Niambh are a good couple, but if he is going to be single again, all I can say is ....ladies lock your doors!!

I have to agree about Kylie, never took to her either. I haven't seen Wayne yet, but I like Chloe and Robert as a quirky couple, so not too sure I'd like to see them split up.

I would like to see Leo with someone though, he is definitely a man that needs a woman!
