I would definitly think its on the cards, as it seems to be building to that. They will either go with that affir or paul and justine, but i hope they dont have paul having another affair.

I hope not; poor Christy. He deserves some happiness.

I see we saw the new Mark Halpin tonight at the quiz.

The young characters are really good at the moment. I want a nice friendship to form between Sean, Doug and Mark now. There's too many old characters I think, more emphasis is needed on the younger ones.

The quiz was a good idea and Carol always makes me laugh. Bit predictable that Doug would win the raffle ticket but good allthesame. Did Denso ring the police just to tell them that McCoys were serving a minor who was 18 in four days? lol

I think Zumo's sister Charlotte and her having Lukemia has lots of potential for good story material. I think we may see lots of her bonding with Zumo in the coming months and then she sadly passes away which will re-unite Zumo and his brothers with his mum, and even Eileen will eventually too.

what they are lacking are some females in the same age bracket. Roising and Sinead haven't been around for ages now. I agree there are two many of the old guys in it at the moment, only so many times one can take Charlie Kelly.

I think it's time for Charlie to go now too. He's been it since the start and no offence to the actor because he's good, it's just that the character is outdated IMO. If he left, it would make space for younger characters to come in.

I agree with a female in that age bracket. Was Roisin a friend of Marks? I remember her. I'm not even sure who Sinead is lol.

We saw in recent months Carraigstown that there was a new park added in, we should see it used a bit more. I would love to see them introduce a nightclub used where we could see the younger characters hang out. Even characters like Damien and Dean and Kylie and Tracey could go there.

I must also say it's nice to have Wayne Molloy back in the show - he's a great character.

I wouldnt like to see Charlie killed off; just make less and less appearances, maybe one a month or something. Roisin was Marks girlfriend, Adams girlfriend. Sinead was her sister i think.

I think the park is tainted after Kylie kidnapping Ben and taking him there. The nightclub could be a good idea; but how could Damien and Dermt get permission from Jo and Suzanne to go there. Jo on the dancefloor

I can't stand Wayne. Justine is class though; hope she's in it for a good while

I don't remember Sinead but I'll take your word for it. It must have been the time I didn't watch at all, because I've only recently got back into it. I thought the 20th anniversary episodes were really good last September and of course the centeanary parade and Carol being Mayor of Carraigstown, then the death of Mags which was sad and all the other stuff that happened at it. I also thought Bill holding McAleer and Annette hostage in that building was good.

I really like my idea of the nightclub actually. It would really work out. I don't want FC to turn into Hollyoaks, but would love to see the younger characters used more. Good point, Suzanne would probably show up at the club and embarass him in front of all his mates by bringing him cold pizza!

Ya the nightclub would be a good introduction, i think they need to re cast mark and damien sister who could make a return and fill in that 20-25 age bracket that is missing in the soap. I like Charlie but at imes he gets far too much airtime, also i think with yvonne getting married we need to see a few doyles make a return, there is at least 3 if not 4 of them in australia now who have never once came home to see their mother!!

Louise is the only one who have never seen Rita since she fell ill. Darren was around for Suzannes wedding and I think Jimmy was as well. Lousie never came back.

As for getting more females in that age category. Bela had plenty affairs down through the years. Perhaps he could have a daughter he has never known about that age who could come into it.

YA im surprised they didnt introduce a shock daughter for bela especially at the time when he was fighting with yvonne, yvonne could have become friends with her and plotted like she usually does.

Justine is bloody hilarious. 1. Is that a wig she's wearing? 2. Is she really that posh; or is that accent put on?
pikeur

She had the same accent when she was glenroe just like she had the sway in her walk, it has to be a wig she is wearing though.

Is Rita going to be in anymore episodes.

Not sure about Rita. I don't think the actress who plays her is very well in real life although I'm not sure. I'd like to see more of Rita. Rita certainly wouldn't approve of Yvonne marrying Connie. She'd have a thing or two to say about the whole thing. Regarding Yvonne and Connie, I do know their wedding is coming up. I believe it's within the next couple of weeks but I do hope we see it on screen. No doubt, to save money, knowing RTE, they will want to save money and they will have it off-screen and come back married. It has been ages since there's been a big episode. The last one I can remember is when Bill held Annette and Seamus McAleer hostage in that building and there was the centeanary parade which was good. They should have an hour episode with the wedding happening and then another story with Zumo, Vivienne and Charlotte. That would be fantastic. I do hope we see the wedding though. The last wedding was over a year ago where Gina died.

I am really growing to like Zumo. I think we're beginning to see a real vulnreable side of him with his sick sister. I find Decco and Denzo just awful though. Typical of the Bishops to charge money to save their sisters life. Although, they don't really know her. Is the actress playing Charlotte really is or is it just the role? I do think that if Charlotte does die, it will bring the Bishops closer together. No doubt Eileen will be sticking her nose in. Zumo came in as a standalone character, now he has himself, his two brothers, his nan, his mum and his sister all in the show.

Zumo has definitly changed the actor himself is far better at acting these scenes than the tough man scenes, i agree Decci and Denzo are dreaful characrots and dreadul actors. No Charlitte isnt sick in real life and if you look closely you can see her hair at the back under the scark/hat thing, i have a feeling the story will see her dying and re unite the bishops and then the father will get released. The good thing with fair city is we dont get an awful lot of spoilers so we never really know whats happening andi think that helps its ratings aswell to b honest where as with all the other soaps we know everything that is happening with the excepytion of who killed archie.
WalfordFanatic
25-04-2010
Yeah I agree very much with your post. I didn't notice that about Charlotte, I will look in the next episode. Yeah I think Zumo may kill his brothers, well we can hope haha! I bet we will see his father arrive soon too, maybe he will be released and turn up at Charlottes funeral! I agree about spoilers too. I much prefer not knowing whats going to happen...it makes it more enjoyable to watch!

The show celebrated 20 years last September. What are the chances we'll see Fair City do a live episode this September for the 21st anniversary?

Have they ever had gay people on this soap and if so how was it done?
scream123
25-04-2010
Yup, There was Eoin, a student in the mid 90s who had an affair with bisexual Liam. Was meant to be the first gay kiss on Irish TV but they copped out and someone walked in and ruined the moment! Then Eoin met Andrew who's boyf Simon was dying of AIDS. Storyline seemed to go on forever. Eoin and Andrew got together and Eoin ended up helping Simon commit suicide. Can't for the life of me remember where either Eoin or Andrew went though.

Then more recently Leo Dowling's son Troy returned from England, a full time gay but no biggie was made of it by anyone. Got with a guy called Steve. Troy headed back to Ibiza DJing. Paul Brennan's brother was around aswell in recent years, he was gay and had a boyf. No biggie again. And at the moment Yvonne and Connie are about to get married in Belfast. Another non-biggie. Her Dad and family and everyone around took no notice even though she had previously been married and always straight.

Fair City are on Twitter now so if you're a tweeter; add them: "RTEFairCity" is their username.

They tweeted recently: "EXCLUSIVE:First pic of the brides, Yvonne+Connie.Their wedding next week promises to be an eventful day in Carrigstown http://bit.ly/9zh9vO"

Anyone notice Eileen's voice was completely gone?

Yvonne shouldn't be talking to Ronan behind Connie's back.

I think Bela gave Cass food poisining with his bagette.

I love Paul and Niamh

However, they had no right to read Rachel's diary. There was no need for Rachel to empty the box on the floor. Shocked to see she smokes too. I hope Paul teaches her a lesson.

Regarding Yvonne and Connie's wedding; I understand Connie's father Ronan is sick and I completely understand bringing the wedding forward for Ronan to see on webcam, but bringing it forward to two days away? Woah!

I love Paul and Niamh aswell and they are a great couple and both are great actors in terms of Fair City. I would love Niamh to have a one night stand on Paul as to my knowledge none of Paul's girlfriends/wives have cheated on him, maybe its time he learns how it feels. Ya the smoking was a surprise by Rachel but its a fair point as many people her age start smoking so its good to see them have it in a storyline. Ya bringing the wedding forward and only allowing 2 days to organise is is a but much but im sure it wont be straight forward and more than likely i assume yvonne will go into labout or something, im also convinced paul and niamh will end up keeping the baby.

THe wedding episode looks quite promising, im also really interested to see how the charlotte storyline will conclude.

I'm quite looking forward to the wedding. I don't think Niamh will adopt Yvonne's baby. Very interested to see how it plays out.

Does anyone else really hate Justine? I've actually gotten to the stage where I switch the TV off. I just can't stand her character and her whole seduction of Wayne was cringe-worthy.
