Madonna gets her 40th number one!
On the USA Dance charts!
Taken from another forum. In Billboard’s September 26th issue (out next week), The Queen of Pop, Madonna will have her 40th!!! – that’s right her 40TH NUMBER ONE SINGLE on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart! – more than any artist in the history of that chart. A list of all her preceeding Number One’s follow: 1. Holiday/Lucky Star (1983) 2. Like a Virgin (1984) 3. Material Girl (1985) 4. Angel/Into the Groove (1985) 5. Open Your Heart (1987) 6. Causing a Commotion (1987) 7. You Can Dance (LP Cuts) (1988) 8. Like a Prayer (1989) 9. Express Yourself (1989) 10. Keep It Together (1990) 11. Vogue (1990) 12. Justify My Love (1991) 13. Erotica (1992) 14. Deeper and Deeper (1993) 15. Fever (1993) 16. Secret (1994) 17. Bedtime Story (1995) 18. Don’t Cry For Me Argentina (1997) 19. Frozen (1998) 20. Ray of Light (1998) 21. Nothing Really Matters (1999) 22. Beautiful Stranger (1999) 23. American Pie (2000) 24. Music (2000) 25. Don’t Tell Me (2001) 26. What It Feels Like For A Girl (2001) 27. Impressive Instant (2001) 28. Die Another Day (2002) 29. American Life (2003) 30. Hollywood (2003) 31. Me Against the Music [Britney Spears featuring Madonna] (2003) 32. Nothing Fails (2004) 33. Some more interesting stats:
Madonna has had just 5 top 10 singles in the US in the past 10 years. 2 of those top 10s were in 2000. That is just 3 top 10 singles in the US in the past 8 years. I suppose the UK is very much her home turf now, and to be fair the US market is basically R n' B now. |

(at last somones got somthing good to say about this country) |

Madonna has always marketed better in the UK. She knows this.
I think it upset her at first that the US didn't see her the way Europe did but her love of Britain came after 'Sex' and the fact we reacted to it with ease rather than America who acted with shock and disgust. Ever since then she seems to have paid more attention to the music we'd like over here rather than what they would like over there. |

![]() Revovler should do better after an X Factor performance and then release. It's just horrible...and so not like a Madonna song at all. You're right though, "Revolver" should do well on the charts if she perfoms it on the X-Factor. I'm totally obsessed by it. |

I think people are sick of seeing a 50 year old woman behaving like she does. my niece used the like her, but now she has told me her and her school mates think shes an embarrasment and dont like her anymore.
And i cannot stand watching her latest videos, epecially when im eating. |

She is a wicked artist and a cleaver business woman. I just wish she would calm it down on the dirty side of things, its awful.
She knows how to keep in the spotlight, but i think if she carries on doing what she does, it wont be long until people switch of from her. |

She is an icon. Both she and her music have now achieved legendary status around the world...she didn't sell millions of records for nothing. She's amazing. Can I ask who YOU prefer to listen to? |

Why is it when a man or woman reach a certain age they're not allowed to be sexy anymore? Are they supposed to shrivel up and die?

It's not exactly the main chart.
Apart from Hung Up, she's not really had a truly great song/hit this decade. (well the Justin Timberlake song was a hit, but it's a pretty dire song IMHO). Credit to her for staying some what relevant, but you have to admit the vast majority of her music just appeals to her fanbase and not much else (a very large fanbase, true) |

Madonna looks amazing for her age. She looked radiant at the VMA's and although there is a LOT of 'rubbing against wall' in the celebration video, she still looks fantastic. Just because she's old doesn't mean she should not dance in videos anymore. Also, the comment about her music being 'over-rated and shit' is ridiculous. Some of her songs are truly amazing. There you have it.

She looks amazing for her age when she has been airbrushed!!!
Come off it, madonna has never had sex appeal anyway. She looks like she wears yesterdays knickers inside out. and needs a good wash.

Most people would probably agree that Madonna is bigger than Michael Jackson, perhaps the biggest ever (or so most of my friends tell me although I'm not sure I agree), I have always liked her, more so in the 80s, but I personally don't think she does look all that great for her age, I mean I'd say she looks 50 - not that there's anything wrong with that of course.
