One thing i have never noticed on the hdr can you lock recorded programmes so they cant be deleted by mistake?.

AFAIK the lock facility (with password) only prevents a recording from being watched without inserting your pin and not from being deleted. It seems the only sure way of preventing the accidental deletion of a programme is to make an extra copy by copying it first to an external device (USB) leaving the original on the PVR (not choosing the optional deletion facility after using 'Move'). Otherwise gone is gone. Unfortunately the 'Delete' option on the Humax does not give you the normal Windows 'Are you sure ?' or 'Un-do' opt-outs. It is final and irreversable. This is very frustrating during the editing of channel lists as you have to be so careful.
