She won't be allowed to sink after one single, she's too heavily invested in!

People who like her music.
It's not like her tracks are as bad as you make them out to be. She sings good pop records. People like it.
Come to terms with that.

she was #73 last week because Boys & Girls first became available last Saturday on iTunes as part of a remix bundle, so she made that position off the back of 1 day of downloads.

I don't think her voice is as amazing and "original" as her people and fans are making it out to be.

She's just a young, bottled blonde meh who likes getting her legs and arse out all the time... And that is what sells her records imo.

Her songs are crrrrrrrrrap...also imo

It's not bad, it's catchy I suppose but it's not memorable, original and no one will listen to that song again in five years time. It's throwaway music. Good but not groundbreaking or transcending.

Agreed.

She appears to me to have been immensely manufactured, in terms of image and music. Although, it won't stop her from being momentarily successful.

She has done very well to have so much success so quickly. Fair play to her though she can really sing and as she is British it's even better.

I so agree to all these positives

You have to generally get over that pixie lott is number 1. I can't stand coldplay but they are big everywhere and I have generally accepted they are the biggest british group about despite me thinking otherwise.

Impressive....

I believe Katy Perry holds the record however, if I remember correctly with a jump from #121 to #1 or something like that with 'I Kissed A Girl'.

Amazing track however, gratz Pixie!

yep, unfortunately many people today are just too childish and immature to accept that not everyone likes and dislikes the same as themselves. and you always see comments along the lines of 'they are stupid and anyone who likes their music is stupid because i don't like them' etc. etc... just grow up.

i always say this, but there are many successful bands and artists that i don't like, but i'm grown up enough to accept that many other people might like them, for whatever reason. it always makes me laugh how those haters say things like 'the only reason people buy the music is because of who the artist is and how they act/dress' or whatever. how bitter and patronising.

I think the bottom of the barrel is finally being scraped here - there is only so much manufactured tat the UK pop market can take.

There's a lot of hearty dislike for Pixie on this forum, so there is obviously something annoying about her, but I won't shout other people down and say they are stupid because of it! For instance, I love La Roux and most people don't - I don't fret over it.

Mama Do - a very unlikely weak number one, flopped in Europe. Boys And Girls, very average pop-by-numbers. Even with RedOne production (which isn't cheap) the result is bland soulless tat Here We Go Again

She's good for what she is, a very manufactured popstar. She can sing and she looks good, and she can dance moderately well.
Her album is a big mix up of different styles, and not in an experimental way, just in an attempt to find her niche or cover all the bases by the sounds of it.
It'll be what happens after this album campaign that makes her or breaks her.

I think her album will sell moderately well. She has some tough competition this week with Muse, suprisingly Peter Andre and Jay z.

The song is scarily similar to Rihanna's Shut Up and Drive, so much so that on first listen I thought it was a cover or at least a conscious homage to the song. That can't be a coincidence.

Ahem...

The only reason she is anywhere in the charts is because she is being promoted like crazy. It is pretty easy to manipulate the british public these days into buying anything-this explains why someone with no musical talent can do so well. It is a constant conveyor belt of these indistinguishable female "artists", rolled out to make a quick buck and they rarely survive more than a couple of years.

Man did anyone see her at the new guitar hero unveiling? That was painful-why the hell was she at a guitar hero event??-Iron maiden, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Muse, Megadeth... eh rock and metal music! Who's bright idea was it to promote her to a demographic that will definitely not want anything to do with her! This is almost as bad as her name on that plane...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4342jpWtOv0

She doesn't even know what to do. Tragic.

Not just me then? Sorry I missed the debate, today is the first time I've heard the song - I don't really follow Pixie Lott.
