doesn't ESPN UK show baseball in the evenings? I'm pretty sure it does...

EDIT: just checked the schedule and at 1:00 Am Tuesday live theres:

"Live MLB: Florida at St Louis

The Fish head to the banks of the Mississippi to take on the Cards at Busch Stadium in St Louis. "

Wednesday 12 am live theres:

"00:00
Live Wed 16th September
Live MLB

Live baseball action from the MLB. "

thusday 6 AM theres a re-run:

"06:00 Thu 17th September
MLB: LA Angels at Boston

Mike Scioscia's Halos head out east to Fenway Park to face Terry Francona and the Red Sox in Boston. "

friday 6 am, another-re run:

"06:00 Fri 18th September
MLB: Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs

The Interstate 94 Rivalry gets intense as the Brew Crew head 80 miles south to face the Cubbies in a critical NL Central match at Wrigley Field in Chicago. "

saturday at 6AM theres:

"06:00 Sat 19th September
MLB

Exclusive Major League Baseball action. "

and on sunday theres

"06:00 Sun 20th September
MLS: San Jose v Colorado

The home side have a strong East Anglian connection, with former Ipswich man Frank Yallop as manager and ex-Norwich winger Darren Huckerby their star player. "

Source: Heinz Ketchup, I mean ESPN.co.uk website.

you won't get the 6am reruns as the channel only broadcasts from 12 midday to 3AM, but you'll get the live stuff.

if you can't watch it live then set ur bt box to record it.

you have to remember our national sports in the UK are football, cricket and rugby. baseball, NFL, NHL, Basketball and soccer is amaerica's national sports. as such you arn't cheated, motre or less Bt have done it right. I'm english, i feel i shouldn't feel the need to fill a shedule of American baseball all day. if you want American sports that bad, then try ESPN online, Sky Tv or Virgin Media.

hope this helps.

so...

the majority of the stuff you've posted starts at 06:00..... so the OP can't watch that, due to one of BTV's 'features'.

and......

the live game at 0:00 won't be finished by the time ESPN ends on BTV.

so basically the message is....if you are paying for ESPN...get it on satellite.

Think the you will find that it is more accuratley describe as a feature of the freeview derived ESPN channel service and not a specific BTV feature.

Also on price it depends on what the OP is paying in that they could be paying for ESPN as a stand alone or obatining it for "free" via a Vision pack. I agree though that some people attribute a value to free addons and as I said it depends on your view on that.

In addition I agree that you get more coverage of ESPN on a certain satellite site but then again you need to pay for 1 pack and ESPN which is around £28.50 a month or you can pay BT for a single pack of £4.89 and over and get it free.

Really depends on what you want and value more.

very fair points....

it could also be argued that the OP has no realistic choice.

As he wants to watch (I assume) live MLB then BTV isn't a viable option and the price on satellite is prohibitive although you can get ESPN outside of a Sky Sub knocking off the '1 pack minimum'

a better choice would be a sat dish aimed at the non sky satellite where you can pick up lots of sports...... gratis
