So you think Arlene can be a dancing judge again???

The BBC has put out a press release saying that So you think you can Dance is finally arriving in the UK, which is interesting. Digital Spy has picked it up by saying that Arlene is joining the Judging panel, possibly filling the "Mary Murphy' role. What do you guys think about that. I thought there would be some strife between the SCD people and Lythgoe's people so that's a bold move. Then again there are people from the US SYTYCD that are pros on DWTS.

(I also just intrerestingly found out that Lythgoe's wife is the head judge on the Australian version)

Really looking forward to this as I love the US version. And I agree Danslink, I think Arlene will be much more suited to judge this than SCD. I wonder if the BBC knew about this when they decided to replace her with Alesha on Strictly?

It is possible, I think she has mellowed a bit.

Love the US version as well and agree that Arlene is more suited to sytycd than SCD but it seems to me that this was all planned and the Arlene/Alesha stuff was all for publicity because she couldn't have done both with the auditions being in October

My feeling exactly kp2ni. I think the BBC were being a bit sneaky there.

I also think Arlene would be great on SYTYCD and it does make me wonder of her name has been in the frame for a while - BUT I honestly think Arlene would have chosen to stay on SCD if she had to make a choice between the shows.

I agree Buddy, I'm sure Arlene would have wished to stay on SCD. Good luck to her with getting this new show, though. I don't know anything about SYTYCD but looking forward to finding out

the beeb say it was all a beeeg secret which was why they didn't say anything, sources close to Arlene say it wasn't on the cards when she left SCD

I think you could be right. I will miss Arlene's input on SCD this year. I did like Alisha as a competitor on the show, but I have no idea what makes her a qualified judge. Still bring it on.....

Interesting that they're bringing SYTYCD over here (although wasn't SYTYCD originally the US version of a UK show??) The most important thing for me is the choreographers they choose rather than judges. The amazing choreography they use on SYTYCD is central to the US show and I hope the UK version has a similar standard.

Quite simply she is not qualified to be a judge, for dancing of any kind, be it ballroom, or Latin American, what does she know? She is a vacuous little pop princess, in skimpy outfits, and with even skimpier talent

I love SCD and will probably still watch, but I will Sky plus the series and zap her off my screen, how can someone who was an absolute begginer at dance last year, now claim to be expert enough to judge others?

I always thought it was the US version of Strictly Dance Fever? I loved that, was sorry it vanished after only 2 series. Arlene was a judge on both of those series, and I seem to remember it running around about springtime, perhaps so that Arlene could work on both that and SCD? Funny that the beeb weren't so accommodating this time around!

Anyway I'm glad she's going to be on SYTYCD, looking forward to it already just hope the standard is as high as SDF (well the winners anyway, seem to remember a few dance disasters!!).
