I've got nothing against Joe, he was an incredible sportsman - One of the greatest ever. But I think, take him out of his comfort zone i.e. the boxing ring, and he'll stiffen up. Does anyone remember the Wii advert he did? Sightly wooden performance I thought, not totally confident doing something he wasn't used to doing i.e. acting.

He's getting professional instruction now though... I don't know, he could be good or he could be useless. We'll only find out when he dances. I think he'll start stiff, but will improve rapidly, as he's got a lot going for him if he can put it all together and get the technique. I could well be completely wrong! It's not just the boxer's feet that makes me think he will be good though.

If he comes out and does a Quentin Wilson I will have to leave the forum after putting so much faith in him!!!

I doubt that Kristina will let you down Erinfan, she will be whiping Joe into shape as we speak, she is a top professional instructor, so the chances of joe dancing well are good, and as you say his boxer's feet should be a great asset to them both.

Bascially AJ would take the most untalented and/or annoying contestant on a show and post numerous, continual threads supporting them - AJ's role of honour included continuous threads about John S on SCD, Luke and Bex's on BB and Coleen Nolan on Dancing on Ice - always loved a good cap locked sentence and an over use of !!!!!!!

Not saying the OP is the same person, but the posting style and use of language is remarkably similar

One thing with Strictly - you really never can tell, well almost never. I knew Kenny Logan and Gary Rhodes wouldn't do well as both have severe dyslexia which presents enormous problems in memorising sequences and following rhythms. Kenny was wonderful in the way that he plugged on but poor Gary did struggle so. I'm not aware of any of this year's contestants having any probs, but if you read someone's biography and they reveal they struggled with reading and writing at school they might not be a good bet. There are exceptions - the wonderfully talented Brian Conley is one. (Well he makes me laugh. I've just thought of "It's a PUPPET!" and had a fit of the giggles.)

(Edit to add: Yes, I know Brian wasn't on Strictly. But he is a great song and dance guy.)
