Bank Transfer
Fett
21-02-2004
I Recently purchased a phone from someone on ebay and arranged a bank transfer . He had little feedback but off that , most where good . Well anyway i noticed he was selling a phone . rather cheaply , And it was the dead of night . So i jumped in with a last minute Bid and won . I arranged that i would use a bank transfer and when the money arrives in his account he would send . 3 major complaints arrived for him, 2 of which where regarding phones and long wait periods ( 1 month 1 ) . The transfer has not yet completed . due for tuesday . Is there a way to cancel the transfer . A charge from my bank wouldn't bother me . better than losing £200

Well you are legally entitled to purchase the phone from him if you were the winning bidder.

If you do not pay the ebayer is perfectly within his rights to report you to ebayer as a non-payer bidder (who will probably ban you) and he is also able to take you to small claims court to get his money.

It works the other way round as well, if you do not receive your goods you can report him to ebay (and he will be banned) and could take him to small claims court.

To help in cases with higher amounts of money, ebay offer a third part service (cannot remember the name off-hand) that you can pay for the phone, but they do not give the ebayer the money until you have received the goods and are satisfied. Perhaps this is the solution?

Hope that helps

So i have to risk being out of picket for £200 . and months of dragging on . somehow can't see it being worth it. The allegations look serious enough of the other bidders . All of whom have great standards on there feedback accounts . Just wondering if cancelling the Actual Transfer is an option ?

I would phone the bank cancel the transfer its not worth the risk.
Ask the seller to do COD because of his recent feedback.
