Strange calls from numbers on T-Mobile
I'm on T-Mobile and have been before. I have noticed that often calls from numbers you don't know, same with texts and voicemails from an "unknown person" come through. I heard somewhere years ago that the reason this only happens on T-Mobile is that they "release" old numbers quicker. Meaning although a new sim is just that, the number most likely isn't!

I've no proof its a general problem, but when I got a "new" T-Mobile number a couple of years ago, I too got calls for someone who used to have the number. Several people claimed they had spoken to someone else on the number recently (several months?)
T-Mobile were typically useless at sorting this. |

As there's now 400,000,000 possible mobile phone number combinations (if the ranges 07500-07599 and 07700-07999 were all used), you'd think that old numbers could be left dormant for several years before being re-used wouldn't you?

Ah, but the phone companies need to apply for the numbers in blocks and not all numbers are allocated. But it does seem that some companies re-use the numbers rather quickly.

slightly off topic but about 3 years ago i got a t-mobile contract phone from the carphone warehouse and when i switched it on i recieved a text message from someone i didnt know that was sent the day before. Luckily i was going to be transferring my old number but it was really weird. I went back to the shop and complained and i got a cheque for £30!!
