Wider field 19" LCD
Could someone please advise.
I bought a 19" LG LCD from RS. The thing is you have to watch it square on. You cannot watch it from any wide angle as the picture is pale and horrid. I am getting it in the neck from the missus who I bought it for. I would appreciate any recommendations for another 19/20 inch TV that would have a wider view field - I know they exist as my sons 22" Samsung is a lot better. Please help a battered husband. PS. Will they take it back after 3 months and swap it with more money |

Horizontal field of view is usually quite good on LCD, it's vertical that goes bad on cheap ones.
I have some Hanns G PC panels that are fine to about 30 degrees from centre before they look yellower. |

thats tiny.
such screens only worked for say computers because you sit directly in front of them. theres no incentive to put out super high quality units at a market segment that far down where only price matters. spend more..get more. did you decide on something so tiny or did the wife push you into it? if so..blame her!and well with such a tiny screen to get it to eye level you'd have to mount it. if its not already at eye level the angle thing is only exaggerated. anyways tiny screens are a poor deal. per unit of screen area you tend to pay quite a bit more for going small. |

Buy a 32". Best bang per buck on the market.
You'll soon get used to the size So will your wife...eventually...

Ive got a Toshiba 19" LCD with built in DVD player mounted on the bedroom wall just below 6ft up and angled slightly downwards. It's not immediately opposite me in bed but it looks fine to me from all angles that one would want to comfortably view it from. By the time the picture lightens you're so offset that it makes you go crosseyed anyway!
