Leona Lewis - Happy (Biggest hit of 2009 so far)?
Do you think Leona Lewis's new single "Happy" will be one of the biggest hits in the world in 2009?
Will it match or do better than the success of Bleeding Love? Link to song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbgfiyxI3eE IMO, it will get to number 1 in the UK and USA. |

Yes it will be one of the biggest hits in the world this year.
No it won't do as well as Bleeding Love because it isn't half as good. The X Factor performance should be brilliant. It's a real X Factor winner's song so a bit dull but obviously Leona sounds amazing. Wrote about it here. I wonder what she'll cover for the Live Lounge this time after the whole 'Run' phenomena last year? She can make any song sound good. |

I'm asking a question. What is up with some of you this week - midweek blues? |

Hardly the biggest hit of 2009 so far when it's just been released to US iTunes.
Pokerface is the biggest song of 2009, and rightly so.

I'm quite disappointed by this from Leona - I was expecting something better from her, especially as Ryan Tedder co wrote this and he is an excellent song writer. This is just a bit boring for me - I doubt it'll do as well as Bleeding Love (which got on my nerves after a short while).

The OP is asking whether it will be the biggest hit..Not that it is the biggest hit...I thought that was obvious
![]() It's hard to understand what the thread's about if the title is worded weirdly.

I can't see it being as big as bleeding love but as long as it is successful, that's all that matters. I can't see this being number 1 in the states but hopefully a top 10 hit.

It's a dead cert for number one over here, but I wouldn't like to predict in the US. Jordin Spark's Battlefield was extremely well received by many of the music critics, even being named as the 'sound of Summer 09' and a 'piece of pure pop magic', and yet peaked at number 10 on the Hot 100. Jordin is more well known in the US than Leona, so it's impossible to predict where the song will peak. |

I think it will be another big hit for Leona but I don't think it will be the hit of the year like Bleeding Love was (it's my personal favourite song so far this year but I don't think it will be as massive as BL).
It's way too early to predict how well it will do in the US though. I never expected a #1 for BL so you never know, but I'm not expecting a #1 for Happy either. I'm hoping for success in sales and airplay regardless of the chart position. |

It's way to early to predict. It will do well in the UK and will be number one, not sure if it will outsell Poker face here but she has a good chance.

Well it aint a patch on Bleeding Love and the sales will reflect that on both sides of the Atlantic. Still, it is a surefire #1 in the UK due to the hype of it being the 1st single off the second album and no doubt Leona will give a showstopping performance of it on X -Factor too.

Isn't Susan Boyle releasing Wild Horses as a single?
If she is, I reckon she could blow the others out of the water with Worldwide sales. |

While Leona is good, the comeback of Whitney and Mariah's version of I Wanna Know What Love Is has pushed her to the back for me.

I think Happy will be a huge hit, but biggest of the year...we'll have to wait and see. The Cowell PR machine will go into overdrive though, if you don't like the song your best moving to North Korea before the 'hype' starts |
