I thought they do 2 dances ? So the guys are bad at the Rumba, they might redeem themselves in the ballroom

Oh i think Chris and Ola might go first. Poor Ola never gets a good partner, she had 2 who were stiff and now a partner no one knows

I think the Rumba is a terrible first Latin dance for any celeb to do, but for a male celeb the odds are really stacked against them imho. ”

I agree Buddy.

The blokes need to have embraced their inner sequin before they feel ok about a rumba

I actually think the rumba is just as difficult for the ladies, as it is the woman's dance. The men have to show off their partner and be romantic, whilst the women decorate the entire routine with spins and lines and even more sexy wiggles than the men do.

It's embarassing for the men and technically challenging for the women.

It's just absurd to have the dance so early in the competition!

Anybody who thinks that the rumba is inherently more embarassing for men than for women should think back to Carol Vorderman's. Or Letitia Dean's. It's a dance where there's a high potential for looking stupid whatever your gender. But as usual men get sympathy whilst it's just assumed that the women are comfortable writhing around touching themselves suggestively.

Yep, it's embarassing for everybody. I do think it's more technically challenging for the women as well.

It's quite funny to read all your comments about Chris Hollins. I don't know many of this year's bunch, because I am not from the UK. I do watch BBC Breakfast a few times a week however, and for me Chris is one of the biggest celebs this year . So I'm a bit surprized Chris is regarded as one of the 'unknowns'. I like him very much though and hope he'll do well.

I agree with those who point out the rumba is an extremely difficult dance, even a good few months into show, so the celebs dancing that first up are probably going to struggle to get decent marks, and could be at a disadvantage. This is an interesting site to check out for those looking for analysis on Strictly,

I kinda follow reasoning behind Chris and think Ricky will be relying on his E'stenders following coming through.

Its not as though the EE vote helped Gillian Taylforth, Phil Daniels or Jessie Wallace last year... the Corrie vote didn't save Brian Capron either

Garry wasn't a particularly strong character IMO either - therefore I think he has a strong contender to be booted off i the early stages if he aint that good

Tuffers is going to be well annoying.

I think it'lll be linda bellingham/Chris Hollins

We can only hope I've read today that his partner can't keep time or count the beat so we might get lucky
