He committed business suicide last night lol
Ive never been a fan of this hugely overated individual, but I cannot for the life of me understand why this guy who likes to think of himself as a good businessman was so utterly stupid last night in ruining someone elses acceptance speech.
The new artist Taylor Swift who is very talented and is someone with a huge fanbase was left openmouthed as Kanye went on one of his annual rants about who should be getting awards according to the gospel of Kanye
He has made a fool of himself numerous times now, and most people wont forget his rants about not winning awards in the past lol
Throwing his toys out of the pram is something that doesnt surprise most music fans now, but last night not only was it the total lack of respect he showed for a fellow artist that was shocking even by his very low standards, but what was equally as shocking was the total brain drain he must have suffered in respect of hoiw it would affect his own record sales and career.
He not only alienated people maybe who would have bought his songs in future, maybe taylor swift fans who liked his music as well, he may well have even alienated some of his own fans who would be disgusted by his behaviour and also his friends beyonce and jay z who surely must have felt so embarrased to be associated with such a complete and utter moron.

Fans are someone you dont want to alienate kanye !!
Surely a man of your business sense realises that lol
Or maybe not

No such thing as bad publicity...

Did Taylor a favour too. Who the hell was she last week?

Also, if you think about it- if you actually liked his music, it wouldn't stop you listening to it, so it's not like it changes anything.

Had to laugh when I read this; "Amongst those condemning him are Pink, Kelly Clarkson and Donald Trump".

So two girls and an OAP? Sure he's quaking in his boots

The three you mention two are big major selling artists pink in particular regularly sells millions of albums etc
And donald trump is one of the most influential businessmen in the world lol
I would hardly brush their opinions to one side lol
The thing with Kanye is he thinks he is better than he is, and thinks he has a right to judge otheres but if he is judged or overlooked for awards perhaps is to put this better lol, he doesnt like it does he??
And besides the three you mentioned, the most important people he upset were fans of music.
He alienated a lot of potential future fans of his, the boos he got were well deserved and I hope he realsies next time before he decides to do a similar thing its the fans who buy records.
Im sure he wants to expand his own fanbase and bring in new fans of his electronic sounds he is doing right now etc
Well he did a rank bad job of that last noght didnt he??
What a clown

I'm not sure he's alienated that many of his fans tbh! I mean, if you like his music, you like it- at least, that's how it'd be with me if I liked his music.

And with him being such a mainstream artist, it's not like lack of publicity would be a problem, even if it came to that and I'm not sure it would.

If anything, this just highlights him even more- like I said, no such thing as bad publicity. Pink and Kelly Clarkson can keep adding fuel to that publicity fire if they want, it's up to them

I Love Pink and Kelly a LOT but I can't help thinking their opinions coming out are more to boost themselves than turn people against Kanye West.

Was it really that bad a Business Decision? The whole world talking about him, I'm sure whilst Taylor was embarassed at the time (I felt so bad for her, but couldn't stop laughing at the sheer ridulousness of it all) but I'm sure she's laughing now with all the attention she's getting. Kanye rants at all these events, it's what he does, it's never harmed him before, it just bigs up the image of massive self-importance he has already built for himself. Why argue the award was wrong in a backstage interview when going on stage gets quadruple the attention and has quadruple the impact on solidfying the opinion of him being full of self-importance.

I really like Kanye's music and can't help but admire the reputation he's built for himself, the audacity of it all wouldn't work for many others but for him it's built him a major career.

And I do kinda agree with what he said, I love Taylor Swift, like since the Country days when she first arrived and am really glad for her to have won such a major pop award but Beyonce's video is better, Taylors is just a rehash of any teen flick of the past decade but in 3 minutes, and a number of past music videos too, first that springs to mind would be Wheatus Teenage Dirtbag. Beyonce's was simple but outstanding and really really did deserve the award I felt.

I think with Pink and kelly clarkson their condemnation of what he did is genuine and not at all linked to publicity they want from this.
However I have no doubt there will be others hoping to jump on the bandwagon
I agree with you that most of his fans wont change their opnion of course they wont, but I do think he will have dissapointed a great number of his own fans with his callous treatment of Taylor swift, lets not forget here we are talking about a 19 year old girl who wrotes her own songs and helps with video ideas for all her songs, she has a wonderful singing voice and what makes her win all the more remarkable was the fact she is a country artist something she attempted to talk about before being rudely interupted by numpty Kanye.
So we are not talking about someone with little or no talent here winning the award, Beyonce will go on to win award after award and has already probably got a huge room with her grammys, mtv awards etc
For Taylor Swift this was her first big moment and acceptance of the type of music she does winning an award, and the moment was taken away from her.

Lol.. it goes way beyond Trump, Pink and Kelly Clarkson. Half the celeb-world have "condemned" Kanye at this stage! We're talking, Katy Perry, Heidi Montag, Joel Madden, Adam Lambert, John Mayer, The Kings Of Leon... etc. etc. And best of all, apparently Obama himself has been quoted on this one! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32859148...s-white_house/
I presumed the whole thing was a stunt from the outset, but if so.. surely it's backfired spectacularly on Kanye? Everyone else seems to be cashing in on this at his expense!?

When is the next music awards?? lol
Lets see the reaction to him
Im not saying he will be ruined lol, that wont happen but he will lose a lot of respect from fellow artists.
Collaberations he was hoping to have in future the list will surely shorten of who agrees to perform with him
What an idiot

I actually thought Katy Perrys video was better than both, but beyonce`s was certainly not a world beater as Kanye would have us believe

Didn't pink already hate him?

He's done this before you know.

Didn't seem to affect his collaborations then, so why would it now?

I can't imagine he'd collaborate with Donald Trump or Kelly Clarkson either so he's probably ok.

"Condemned" is a bit strong tbh. He called him a jackass, and rightly so imo!

The video is something Special, Justin Timberlake just won a bloody Emmy for guest actor just for recreating the video on SNL. There are god knows how many copies of it on the web, one involving a flashmob in the middle of London recreating it.

It's a geniusly simple video which just works perfectly and I really do think it'll be very highly regarded for years to come, more so than probably any other video from the past few years.

I reckon the next music awards show which Kanye is nominated in will actually give him an award just so someone can run on stage and return the favour, with Kanye's involvement of course, get's Kanye an award, turns the whole thing into a joke and will get the award show a boost in ratings, everybody win's (Except Beyonce for Best Female lol)

Kanye is so highly regarded amongst fellow musicians I doubt a (very) Drunken moment where he made a bad call (But was ultimately right) will stop them working with him.

He hasnt publicly humiliated a fellow artist in a major awards ceremony has he??
He may have cried about not winning before but its never been so personal as it was last night, and why was he so upset when it wasnt even him up against Taylor Swift??
Bizarre really that he feels the need to run these award shows, maybe he should present next year and everyone should bow to his choices of who should win every award
It will go something like this
best video- Kanye West
best Song - Kanye West
Best Album - Kanye west
Best Rock - Kanye West ( for when he rocked out to pearl jam at their recent concert. ( well that would be his justification for picking up another award lol)
Best Male - Kanye West
Best Female - ( take that wig off kanye!! ) His attempt to win this award too fails so he picks something he appeared in with a female so at least his face is on the video, he chooses rhianna

Perhaps next year Russel Brand should step aside and let Kanye try his hand at presenting and lets all have a good laugh

Well, he's being chewed to pieces over his healthcare plan, Afghanistan's in sh*t, the economy's knackered...
Kanye-bashing is probably the only common ground left between Obama and the public atm!

I actually thought Katy Perrys video was better than both, but beyonce`s was certainly not a world beater as Kanye would have us believe
I didn't watch the VMAs or anything, but I think that Beyonce probably should've won.. "Single Ladies" had way more of an impact than the other vids. The number of parodies on Youtube is seriously scary! Peeps really loved the choreography.. Besides, surely, if it won "video of the year", it should've automatically won "best female vid" anyway? Meh...

He ran on stage and basically ranted about how outrageous it was that he didn't win the award, while the other band was right there- same thing he did with Taylor, only it was actually more personal the first time because it was about him not winning the award.

He may say he was drunk to try and somehow justify his actions, but millions could see he wasnt drunk lol, he just was being the a$$ he is.
I think the only joke we may well be seeing in the next awards show will be Kanye himself as he is now a laughing stock of world music lol
He doesnt need a spoof take on his actions or a set up at the next show to bring laughs, he is probably hearing sniggers behind him wherever he is walking right now.

As a fan of Kanye I am used to him behaving like a complete ass*- it's part of the appeal as much as that nerd-rock look he is currenty rocking. All will be forgotten with the next record no doubt.
but he LOOOOOVES fishsticks!!!
Fishsticks rock!

*He was right about blood-diamonds, homophobia within the black community and his comments about George Bush were completely on the money.

Have a look at the images, seems like he had quite a lot to drink and was acting up before he got on stage. He was drunk, don't just say he wasn't because you want to attack him.

And a Laughing Stock of world music? Not quite.

He is a complete pillock and what he did last night would have been bad enough against a well established artist, but to do it to a 19 year old making her way in the music world and promoting her country roots and trying to be heared in a world of hip hop, rock and RnB is difficult.
I dont think this will be forgotton for a long time, he has damaged his already flawed reputation even more now, and the condemnation he is receiving is justified.
I hope people refuse to perform with him and show him he is not the god he thinks he is.
