It is fatal to be the main couple televised rehearsing in Friday's ITT. This infallible trend was broken only once (by whom?).
And fatal to wear pink. What did the incomparable Kristina wear in the American Smooth? Something beautiful, but alas pink. It was shocking. She was toast.
The winning women invariably came off the blocks roaring in round one. They started on such a high there was nowhere else to go.
The male winners started off as rubbish and progressed dramatically gathering public support. The one man who started off roarinig was Austin Healey. Alas he too had nowhere else to go.
Cherie impressed mightily in the first two rounds, but she peaked too early, the lioness then turning into a pussycat. Significantly Alesha got beat by Kelly in round one. Alesha then progressed, and keeping well away from accidents won the glitterball. Quizmike, has it been a good sign not to win the first round?

Don't expect any of the men to score well tonight. Neither dance is historically good for male celebs and it wouldn't surprise me to see at least the bottom three positions on the leader board being filled by men.
Not only did Matthew and Martina dance a Waltz as their first dance, she also wore pink. The Strictly stats never lie!!

Thought I would bring this forward......as we now have all the 'first dance' scores and Ricky Wittle is the highest with 33 Mikes states would make me worry if I was Ricky
He scored over 32 and it was for the Waltz the only thing in his favour was that he wasnt dancing with Erin or Ian
Ricky W's score last night (33) has made him go in straight at number eleven on the average judges' scores rankings! This is equal with Kelly Brook, and between Mark Ramprakash (33.5) and Gethin Jones (32.92).

Ricky's 33 was the highest ever first dance score for a male.
Highest ever score was Zoe Ball with 35, followed by Emma Bunton, Kelly Brook, Penny Lancaster and Cherie Lunghi with 33.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, Zoe came third and the rest didn't even reach the final (Kelly of course had to withdraw).
ETA The previous highest male score was 32 by Austin Healey who of course didn't get to the final either!
So, we are still looking at a Rav Wilding / Phil Tufnell final!!
