Problem with remote

I'm having a bit of probem with my remote.

I had the Audio button set up to control my Panasonic SC-PT460 DVD/Sound system and it worked perfectly. I've now bought an Ecotek Standby Saver and want to use the Audio button to control that. I've programmed the DVD button on the remote, which was previously unused, to control the SC-PT460 without problem. I would now like to re-program the Audio button so that it no longer controls the SC-PT460 but it will not let me.

Here is what happens:

Press and hold Audio button. Red light comes on, goes off and comes on again. Press 1st number button of new code (I'm using one of the supplied codes for the SC-PT460 that doesn't control it). Red light goes out and comes back on, enter 2nd number, red light goes out and comes back on. Ditto for 3rd and 4th number. Press OK to set code and the red light comes back on and stays on for maybe 30 secs. then goes out. According to the manuel it should blink twice and then go off. Audio button still has "old" code and controls SC-PT460.

Is there a way of clearing the old code from a single button or all the buttons. I've tried removing and replacing the batteries but it doesn't make any difference.

Any ideas ?

Just try setting it to a product your not likely to ever own or one that doesn't tally with the Panasonic i.e. 0001

I think it's doing this as the number isn't being recognised by the humax as I say try using 0001 as this works providing you're programming correctly.

Nope, just tried that and it doesn't work. After inputting 4th number the red light just comes back on and stays on.

Ok I think I see a problem..
The first time I tried it I was allocating 0001 to the TV button you're right that number doesn't work for the Audio button. It seems that a number has to be specific to the button you are programing try entering 1313 after entering the last number the light will blink and then stay on, you need to press the ok button within the twenty odd seconds, the button should then blink 3 times.

Hey it works !!

Brilliant !! I'm well impressed.

I knew someone on here would have the answer that's why I didn't bother trying Humax support.

Many thanks,

bsw
p.s. How the hell do you know that ?
