Questions about sales/iTunes/music in general
Sorry if sound thick here but i've always wanted to know....
![]() 1-) iTunes. When people download a song from iTunes, does it automatically go towards their sale counts (along with the CD's)? 2-) I've heard that only two downloads of the same song on iTunes go towards the sale counts and after that it stops. Is that true? 3-) How can some songs (I Gotta Feeling, for example) stay in the top 5 for weeks and weeks yet other songs can fall so quickly in the space of a week? (like Get Sexy) 4-) Why does promotion for some songs start so early? I remember 'Work' for The Saturdays was performed in March or something yet the song wasn't released until late June! 5-) What exactly happens when sales are counted? Do they get bought/downloaded from Monday - Saturday then get frozen on Sunday, the counts restarted and then go on sale again on the Monday? 6-) Do all the remixes and radio edit on iTunes go towards sale counts? 7-) Who in your opinion is the best and worst live singers of today? ![]() Thanks, lol |

1) Yes
2) I'm pretty sure that's wrong 3) Easy, more people buy IGF Also, dance songs seem to benefit from sales at the weekend (known as the 'weekend effect') so they will hang about a bit more.4) Because of the mystery of record labels' decisions 5) Sunday - Saturday each week. 6) Yes 7) Beyonce, Christina A Happy to help
