Hi I'm new to posting on here although I've been reading these forums for years.

I've been lucky enough to get tickets for Saturday 3rd October and I wondered if anybody who has been before has any advise on what time to arrive etc etc etc

I've tried to look for last years thread about it, but like i said I'm new and I can't seem to find it!

Thanks DD

Well ticket winning already seems more common than last year.

Advice? Well, if I get there, I'm getting there 9 or 10am. Just how I like to do things, I like seeing their cars go through the gates at the BBC, chat/wind people up in the queue and generally turn it into a bit of a party. Plus arriving so early mean no "I wonder if we'll get in" rubbish.

Get there as early as you can and be prepared for a long wait!

If you're going with a friend, take it in turns to go get food/go to the loo etc, there's Westfield literally 5 mins away with restaurants etc, or in the opposite direction heading towards the other BBC building, there's a Starbucks and Tesco Metro type place.

Wrap up warm too if needs be..and take something to sit on.

Thanks for all the advice.

The tickets say admission on site form 5pm and admission to the studio from 6pm. Is this the same as it has been in previous years????

Sounds about right (but maybe a tad earlier last year).

But make sure you get there early (about lunchtime) to guarantee getting in.

The Beeb always send out many more tickets than there are places so its a first come first served issue.

When VickkiK says get there early - she really does mean it!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the past most people have got there around 1pm and that's been fine to get in.

It's a long day from 1pm.
I suggest a hip flask for company.

and one of those fold up stool things!

I went to see Take That in June - was queuing from about 3pm and then standing from then until 11pm at night - very difficult (but worth it lol)

Hello, I went last year.

We got there at about 12.30 - we were numbers 13 & 14 in the line (I know this as they give you numbers before you went in). It's a long wait, wear some comfy shoes, there is a coffe shop in reception at the BBC, so even though you are outside, one of you can pop there to keep you refreshed.
When you get in, if you want to be sat downstairs (and there aren't many seats downstairs due to production guests) you need to seat yourself near the door at th far end of the room (to the left of the bar as you are looking at it), this is where they call you to when you to in order to go into the studio. The further up the line you are the more likely you are to get downstairs (we were downstars last year). Flash a smile at the people who show you to your seats....if some production guests don't turn up you may get moved to a better seat. I got moved last year, ended up third row from the front, just behing Rav (who was in the audience).
It goes really quickly, so enjoy it all! You can take pictures after filming has finished (but you are not in the studio long afterwards). You will see lots of the dancers/judges etc outside - as you queue up outside the studio when they have walked you over - we saw Len, Darren, Vincent etc.
Bruce was a bit of a pain when we went - but don't let that put you off.
Funny thing - when the VT is on a team of make-up artists rushes on the "touch-up" the judges.

Any questions, just ask

Wow, thank you everyone for all the information.

I have a horrible feeling that I'm not going to be able to get in. I'm traveling down from Lancashire & the earliest I'm going to be able to make it to the studio is about 3/4pm

Oh well i guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed & hope that the BBC haven't issued too many extra tickets this year.

Thanks again for all your suggestions!

DD

Is there no way you can make it earlier? I think 4pm is a bit too late to get in.

There is also a cloakroom to put your stuff in - if you do bring stools to sit on etc.

When I went (Series 4), if you sat on the ground floor, then you could walk onto the dancefloor at the end and chat/take pictures with the professionals and celebs. Not sure if this is still allowed.

However, when I went, contrary to what someone else said, the people at the front of the queue to the studio were led to the upstairs seating, and people who were a bit further back got onto the ground floor. That said, any seating is fine and you will have a fabulous time!

I don't think you'll get in at 4pm.

I travelled from Devon, when I have been to the show in the past. I left my house at 6am, got to White City at 11am so I don't really let distance effect my chances of getting in. I think they over subscribe the tickets quite heavily. My ticket numbers one year were 500 and something when I reckon they can only get 200 in maximum ... if Eastender cast don't show up.

I went series 5 and they seemed to crack down on us humble members of the public invading the dancefloor. I managed to grab (not literally) Flavia, for a photo and a quick chat, once she went, we were noticed as being on our own and told to leave. LOL.

Oh, what a shame! Going onto the dance floor after the show and getting pictures and autographs in my pink sparkly book was the highlight! I even have a picture with Karen and her sparkly glitterball, as I was lucky enough to go to the final that year.

Even in series 4, there were production/security staff trying to stop people going onto the dance floor, but I just strode on confidently - all the friends and relatives were going on so they may have thought I was one of them. It does sound like they are stricter now though.

That's totally it! The confidence! If you look like you're meant to be there, the security tend to assume you know what you're doing. If you dither, they're on to you.

Yeah, Flavia was lovely, and when we went outside as we were making our way back to the cloakroom I saw a lot of the dancers outside that area with the fountain and that's often shown behind the scenes on ITT. So my friend and I strode over and had a chat/photo with Anton and Nicole. They were totally lovely. No security to be seen there. But this series is so hyped they probably have everywhere covered!

Aww, you were so lucky to see Karen at the final! Bet she was elated!
