The security is horrendous now. It used to be great when you could just wander on to the dance floor afterwards and chat to the dancers and celebs.

I would really recommend doing your best to get there earlier DD. Is there no way you could come down the night before and book into a cheap hotel? Or even get halfway there the night before and then you won't have so far to travel on the Saturday? You really need to get there by about 1.00pm latest to ensure getting in. We used to take fold up stools, a picnic, bottles of wine, crossword puzzles, sudoku and anything else to keep ourselves amused.

If you absolutely can't get there until 4.00pm and decide not to bother, I'd be only too glad to take the tickets off your hands

Wow, thank you everyone for all the information.

I have a horrible feeling that I'm not going to be able to get in. I'm traveling down from Lancashire & the earliest I'm going to be able to make it to the studio is about 3/4pm

Oh well i guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed & hope that the BBC haven't issued too many extra tickets this year.

Thanks again for all your suggestions!

DD
i agree, you must get yourself down much earlier than 3/4pm. How are you travelling? Who are you taking on the other ticket?

Well you've all come up with pretty much the same advice, so it looks like I'm gonna have to to pull out all the stops and get there as early as I possibly can armed with a hip flask and a fold up stool.

Thanks again for all your tips, I'll try to remember as many of them as I can and just hope I'm there early enough.

Good luck to everyone else who has applied for tickets. I got my email from the bbc on Monday so if you applied for tickets for the 10th Oct they should let you know early next week.

(I'm posting on this thread only to help Fairy and others with their question)

you can't apply for tickets any more. It's a general ballot which was open just before the series started. "Winners" of tickets get drawn randomly a couple of weeks before each show. Next year will probably be the same and to enter the draw visit www.bbc.co.uk/tickets

Dancing Dreams, I hope you got in. Any chance of a report?

Velma, I guess it's probably too late for the 10th but you may hear during the week about the 17th if you're lucky.

Hi Everyone,

What a day Saturday was!!! I had changed my plans to allow my friend & I to queue up as early as possible on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately my boyfriend managed to change my plans back again by getting down on one knee & proposing in the middle of St James's Park on Saturday morning. It was a wonderful surprise & we went for a lovely meal in the OXO tower afterwards. This did however mean that we got into the Strictly queue slightly later than we had planned.

I'd had an email from the BBC last week with a notification of time changes. Gates were open from 3:30 pm until 5pm. When we arrived at the back of a fairly long queue at 3:50pm with hardly anyone stood behind us I thought we had no chance. Saturday really must have been my lucky day, because we go it. We we given numbers 284 & 285, and they were only going up to 290 so we did cut it pretty fine.

If anyone else is going I would say get there about 3pm and you should be fairly safe. (please don't kill me if I'm wrong though) The info I've had from the BBC is that they send out 650 tickets including all the production guests & there are 550 seats inside the studio (when there are only 290 seats for the general public it just shows how many production guests there actually are) Anyone that doesn't get in the first 290 is given a standby number & I know only 20 of them were allowed in to fill the spare seats on Sat.

It was a really amazing night and I'm so glad I was able to get in. It was even worth leaving my new fiance for a few hours. He was waiting for me outside when the show finished & we all headed off to continue the celebrations.

Anyone that has tickets, enjoy every second of it, but don't think that the queuing is over once you've got through the gates. There is the cloakroom queue, the toilet queue, the bar queue etc, etc, etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone.

I was wondering whether anyone had heard that they have tickets for the 24th October. I'm really hoping that I've been successful because I've applied for that date and I really want to go because my family have all been and I haven't. Sounds weird, I know but there's a good reason. 3 years ago, my family managed to get themselves 4 tickets for around the end of October but I was on a year abroad in Germany and my mentor at the school I worked in never told me it was a 2 week half-term in Germany and I could have gone home if I wanted to in order to watch the show and have a nice relaxed week at home too.

I digress. Sorry for the slight sob story.

Anyway, it's just to see if anyone has been successful for that date too because I don't want to be getting my hopes up too high just incase I haven't been successful. I've tried for tower ballroom too and that's closer to home so hopefully if I haven't been successful for the 24th, I will have been successful for the tower ballroom date. I was also wondering, do you get notification by e-mail or by post?

Hope someone can help.

Hi there, loverach

The date applied for this year was October 24th and I've not heard anything yet. think it's a bit early, to be honest. think you're usually notified about 10 - 12 days before if you're successful. So lets cross fingers for both of us.

Hi Loverach,

I was lucky enough to get tickets for Sat 3rd of Oct & I was notified by email on Monday 21st September. So if you've applied for tickets for Sat 24th Oct, I would think that you should know early next week weather you've been successful or not.

Good luck, I have my fingers crossed for you!!

Hi, I was just wondering if any of you that had applied for Sat 24th Oct had heard any news?

I really hope you were lucky enough to get tickets as it meant so much to you. Don't worry if you didn't though. There is always Blackpool & there is bound to me more tickets available for that, as it's a much bigger place!!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you.

Hi DD

I haven't heard anything yet. I was hoping but maybe they haven't been issued yet. Aside from that, I have applied for Blackpool tickets and you're right, the tower ballroom is such a big place with so many seats. I hope I've got some because I live quite close so it'll be nice to think I'll have a nice Saturday night on the 7th instead. I was just hoping for the 24th because my sister (c4k) has just started a new job as a teacher and half term effectively begins on the 24th and she deserves a nice weekend break in the capital with a nice visit to Strictly to cap it off.

Oh well, if it's not meant to be ...

Does anyone know why the Dublin tour shows are being billed as Strictly Come Dancing - The Professionals whereas the UK tour is SCD Live, will it be a different show at all? maybe with no celebs
I have tickets to London in Feb but i might try to sell them and go to the Dublin one , save on flights hotels etc, but only if they are the same show

It's a different show done in a theatre rather than an arena and featuring just the professionals. I'd try and get tickets for that as well - it should be brilliant.
