.........It can't be replicated- 'cause it was then - this is now!

The whole scene - back then.........was more to do with politics- rather than the music.

If you want to listen to some good 80's music try these...........rather than some
sad un- original bands, like you have today.

Great 80's bands:

Depeche Mode
The Stranglers
The Police
Queen
Madness
Blondie
Men at Work

And how would you categorise Wham, Haysi Fantasie or Joe Dolce ?

Every decade has its cr*p music as well as its classics - the 80's was no different . . .

Okay, I see what you're saying...but they formed in '84 and their album was '89. Personally I remember them more as 80's.

the 80s is generally looked back on as quite a clownish decade for music, interesting that now we would kill for some of the bands

yeah, I'd say many of these bands are new wave post-punk that started in the late 70s

most of the truly awful 80s music came in after that was all over

the 80s was quite naff really

I'd rather hear some of SAW over the x factor crew anyday.

Also, Erasure who are still going strong today, in fact the last couple of Erasure albums have been very similiar to their 80's work with familiar sounding bits heard in some of Erasure's best 80's songs.

Have you slipped and banged your head or something?

I can see how the Pixies were heavily influenced by punk, and Siouxsie and the Banshees a little (only their early stuff), but tbh, they're probably my least favourite 80's bands on that list.
