The British Soap Awards were mentioned in another thread and I was thinking who I would like to win what at this years awards;

Best Actor – Simon Gregson (Steve, Corrie)
Best Actress – Suranne Jones (Karen, Corrie)
Best Storyline – Peter/Shelly/Lucy and the bigamy plot (Corrie)
Best Newcomer – Julia Haworth (Claire, Corrie)
Best Episode – Karen/Steve’s wedding (Corrie)
Best Couple – Karen/Steve (Corrie)
Best Exit – Trisha Dingle (Emmerdale)
Sexiest Male – Carl (Emmerdale)
Sexiest Female – Karen (Corrie)
Spectacular Scene of the Year – Ashley/Louise’s car crash in the storm (Emmerdale)
Special Achievement Award – Barbara Knox for over 30 years in Corrie
Best Soap – Coronation Street

Anyway else have any suggestions of who they would like to see win awards?

Yes Keith Duffy could win sexiest male, he is popular but I really think it will be that Dennis from EE given his popularity (even though I think he isnt sexy)

I also forgot about Hero of the Year, any suggestions who could win that from Corrie?

Love her or hate her - The best actress has to be Kate Ford (Corries Tracy) The reason we all hate Tracy is a tribute to Kate's acting ability - I think she is fantastic in the role!

Claire is a great character, I think she is really sweet!

And im sorry but I don’t think Kate Ford has *any chance of winning an award!

Well what is the use of making suggestions here - we all know that EastEnders will win all the awards again even though they don't deserve it - as most of the awards are public voting and young people voting don't watch Corrie or Emmerdale!

Coronation Street (this is slightly confusing - I am talking about the person who started the thread not the programme) were you being serious when you put most spectacular scene - Laurel and Ashley's car crash ?

Because it's not a British soap, although it is far better than any British soap on Tv at the moment.

Kate Ford's acting is absolutely terrible. She is one dimensional and when she cries there is no tears. She could take some tips from Suranne Jones

Only watch Eastenders so here are mine, those with a * next to them I think Eastenders will win in that category and with the selection i put.

Best Actor – Sean Williamson (Barry - Eastenders)
Best Actress – Charlie Brooks (Janine - Eastenders)
* Best Storyline – Janine and Barry's "relationship" (Eastenders)
Best Newcomer – Angela Wynter (Yolande - Eastenders)
* Best Episode – Kat and Andy's Wedding Day (Eastenders)
* Best Couple – Kat and Alfie (Eastenders) (i mean who else will win it out of all of the soaps lol!!!!! )
* Best Exit – Sean Williamson (Barry - Eastenders)
* Sexiest Male – Nigel Harman(Dennis - Eastenders)
Sexiest Female – Michelle Ryan (Zoe - Eastenders)
Spectacular Scene of the Year – New Year's Eve Minibus crash (Eastenders)
*Special Achievement Award – (as said above) June Brown (Eastenders)
*Best Soap – Eastenders

But as usual if Eastenders win the best soap people will say it was not deserved due to the fact younger people watch it, one word...bitter.

Usually I'm all for Eastenders to win everything but Corrie has really outdone itself in the last 12 months with some great storylines, very well written and the acting the best I can remember it.

Best storyline: Peter/Lucy/Shelly bigamy plot
Best Actor: Yeh Steve in Coronation Street
Best Actress: A three way between Tracyluv, Kat Slater and Karen
Best Scene: Tracy wrecking Steve and Karen's wedding
Best couple: Kat and Aflie Eastenders
Best Newcomer: Daz (Emmerdale)
Best Exit: Peter Barlow (Coronation Street)
Most Spectacular Scene: The bus crash in Eastenders or the New Year storm in Emmerdale, I reckon the latter
Best Episode: Steve and Karen's Wedding (Coronation Street)
Sexiest Male: Bruno Langley (Todd Grimshaw, Coronation Street)
Sexiest Female: Samia Ghadie (Maria, Coronation Street)
Best Soap: Coronation Street
Special Achievment Award - Definitely Barbara Knox, (Rita, Coronation Street) or yer man who plays Jack Sugdan in Emmerdale

I think it is due to the fact it is the BRITISH soap awards, I am sure people think Oz soaps are good but probably just not British enough.

I am sure there are soap awards in Australia, and no British soaps allowed so its only fair !

Then you wait for the other soap awards - like I dunno the national soap awards or something ?!!, not only that it would be a logistical nightmare to have a soap awards that were given to the Australians - satelite link ups, plane tickets over, miles out on storylines !

You could start your own all encompassing soap awards on a seperate thread ! Perhaps calling it the "Theresa16 Global Soap Awards"..........you never know it might take off

My best newcomer would definately be the young lad who plays Chesney in Corrie.
