Her advice is better than she was

I hate this "one female, who shall remain nameless" bollocks. If you're prepared to call out Arlene for being a tit, then do it with the other celebs, because otherwise they all get the splashback from your gossipy self.

Maybe she's hoping we'll go back and watch who elbowed her...

As cold and competitive as she makes the experience sound, a lot of the other pro dancers stood up for her over the James controversy and let their feelings be known to him.

An entertaining enough read...though it's impossible to tell where the truth ends and the embellishment begins.

I agree and it's interesting that it paints a different picture of Arlene than Fiona Philips and Louisa Lyton did.

Sounds like she hated everyone and everything, apart from the money

As for being put out that Arlene gave her a look she didn't like, well that's possibly why.

I thought that came across as pretty honest and down to earth. Interesting about how the competitors hug/clap/support each other. I always wondered about that. They all live in different places and train separately. Apart from the live shows and the group dances they must hardly see each other. So where does all this camaraderie come from? Obviously made up for TV!

I used to know one of the pros and it's not just made up for TV, the cast genuinely forms a strong bond. Rehearsal and show days are long and most of them go clubbing together after the show. They're always running into each other on ITT etc as well. The main thing is they are all going through the same thing together. Lots of contestants have remained friends with each other since the show ended.

Obviously not everybody will get on with everybody else, but it's generally a good atmosphere.

It changes every series as well. Series 5 was a particularly close group.

Series 5 was the best series altogether - IMHO.

You get that impression - Gethin was interviewed about a year ago and said he was in touch with the Logans, Matt DA as well as Cam and was exchanging texts with Penny (perhaps not surprising since she was the celeb partner of the pro partner of his pro partner) you also got the impression that him and Flavia were quite chummy even before the tour. Apart from Lilia and Vincent all the pro/celeb couples appeared to have formed strong bonds with each other.

Carole Vorderman made pretty much the same comments about Arlene's attitude towards her whilst sitting in make up together.... I'm inclined to think its true!

Her comments on Ola and Arlene sounded spot on to me. Congrats to the girl for surviving the odious James Jordan. I seem to remember he was a total pig to her.

I'm pretty much a newbie to SCD, and it was a bit of an insight to me. Naturally, I'll take some of it with a pinch of salt and down to her own personal experience, but all in all, I enjoyed the read.

Thanks for posting OP

“One of the female contestants in my series was all smiles for two weeks, until it came to the obligatory group dance, when I accidentally blocked her face while trying to hold my balance in the tableau at the end. I got a very firm elbow in my ribs, cunningly executed so that my stumble appeared self-induced.”

Sounds a bit implausible to me. I can't even be bothered to watch it back and see.
