"For a man who used to count the notches on his bedpost to get to sleep, it comes as a surprise to find Darren credits his positive new outlook to religion. I pray every night before I go to bed, he says. I thank God for my wife and my kids and for the fact Im still here."

Who writes this crap? Thank you for that article it made me laugh!

So he found God and Pies. No wonder he is content.

He now lives with his wife about 10 miles away from me in a place just outside Barnsley. She is also a singer and is from the area. They had to stay local because they rely on her parents for childcare whilst they are away working.

They do alot of the Butlins and other holiday camps. As he was apparently made bankrupt, he can not yet buy any property, but he rents a house.

I have spoken to him a couple of times, and he seems ok, hasn't got that 'edge' to him like he had in his hayday.

When was his heyday anyway? About 10 years ago??

Naaa... he's a good lad, keeping out of the limelight.

Isn't he?

"When I look in the mirror I see some 40-year-old bloke looking back at me"
I think he's looking a lot older than 40

Maybe he keeps some poor innocent 40 year old bloke tied up behind his two-way mirror?

I wouldn't put it past him, the filthy cad.

I saw him in the Rocky Horror show a few times years ago.

As I've seen Jason Donovan a lot over the years, Darren day was always one pace behind in the same roles and everyone used to tell me how fantastic Darren was and all this.

I did honestly expect him to be something special when he was in Rocky but I don't have any outstanding memories of him to be honest.

I think he looks okay in that picture though - yes he's heavier but so what? He isn't singing and dancing eight shows a week now, presumably.
