Getting A little Annoyed With Humax Foxsat

Is it me? It now (at long last) appears that ITVHD are at long last begining to offer more programme material (Miss Marple, Doc Martin etc), but I dread it when switching on and the 'add more channels' banner appears, knowing full well that I'll have to reset all the ITVHD programmes.

We were away at the weekend and 'er indoors was a little miffed that Miss Marple didnt record for that reason. Isnt it about time that this was fixed? Its coming up to a year now and seems a little daft that I have to back up all recordings on my Humax 9300 just in case (which never fails), is this progress?

I have no other issues with the Foxsat, and in general I like it, but it takes me back to the days of programming a VCR that I have to check and double check the programming.

I dont want to jump on the 'I hate the Foxsat' bandwagon but it is begining to grate just a tad. !

Appols if this has been discussed elsewhere.......

Do we even know if they are going to sort that out?

There are several areas in which the box behaves in an extremely amateurish manner but AFAIA there is no list of things which are definitely going to be fixed.

Having spent a few days away using a Freeview Digihome - a box that 'just works' - it was a bit of a culture shock returning to the all round clunkiness of the Humax.

at the bottom you will see lots of Freesat units including the Humax Foxsat-HDR

so there is a update to 1.00.03

There are virtually no changes in V03 from v02.

Couldn’t agree with you more....

three times in eight days I have had to reprogram “The Fixer” on ITV HD after channels being taken out ,added in and moved sideways.

Just another reason to make ITV HD a dedicated channel, but I agree it should be fixed in the humax box as well.

While I never watch ITV or ITV HD so I don't ever bump into this annoyance, I appreciate how annoying it can be, but also, it seems the way ITV HD has been implimented is causing the problems, as it's not showing as a dedicated channel, which ironically it does on non freesat boxes and PC DVB-S cards, so why can't it show on a freesat box?

Secretly, I don't think ITV want you to record any of it's programs. It wants you sitting through all it's programs and adverts. Soo don't expect them to fix it, any time soon.

It is for this reason I have given up recording ITV HD content, and just record from ITV SD instead. At least we won't (hopefully) miss anything this way (missed The Bill last week because of this issue).

We shouldn't have to resort to recording SD instead, but this stupid cock-up of a service drove us to it. Ridiculous!

Excellent point, but a 2 hour programme (like Miss Marple) is only about 1Hr 25 mins actual viewing time - too much time to waste! Bring on product placement, can't wait to see Miss Marple wearing Nike gear, using an Ipod, drinking Red Bull and smoking a Hamlet! Actually thinking about it product placement could mean an end to period dramas - I digress!
