Duff Foxsat HD box???

We have been trying to sort an installation in France for a month or more.

We found out that we had a dodgy quad LNB, as one line was showing no signal to our Sky box, but showed a good signal on both inputs when connected to our new Foxsat unit. Subsequently we discovered that really only one was working with the Foxsat box (as with the Sky box).....the other was a "ghost".

Anyway, having now switched our Humax box to the end of the house with two good feeds from the dish, we find that input 2 if connected in isolation shows no signal. If both inputs are connected, then a full signal is shown on both.

I have swapped the cables around and either one conneced to input 1 in isolation shows full signal on both inputs. However whichever way we connect both cables, we still cannot watch and simultaneously record.

My fear is that input 2 is faulty......or am I missing something?

It does sound possible that it is faulty (maybe caused when you connected it to the faulty LNB).
is your sky box just a standard box or a sky+ box ? if its a sky+ box you could try that to see if you get a signal on both tuners.

Thanks for the reply. The other box is indeed a Sky+ box and will view and record different channels with the 2 good feeds.

The Humax box has never worked at either end of the house.....it was originally connected to the two good feeds, but would only ever record or view one channel at a time. The dodgy LNB was an additional complication, but that is now sorted, so I guess that the Foxsat box will have to go back.

You need to connect the box at the 'good end' of the house and perform a factory reset at the fisrt time it was set up assumed only one sat feed. once the reset is completed the box should recognise dual feeds

If you swap the infeeds on the foxsat-hdr can you still view channels. If so do a factory reset input a UK postcode EX2 2JN is a good choice to get good ITV reception. Watch for the two cables recognised message

Hi Graham

Yes, we can view programmes if the cables are swapped. As I mentioned in the previous reply, I'll try the factory reset at the earliest opportunity.
