I did miss Arlene's imput, but I enjoyed every minute of the show and can't wait for another helping tonight... imo entertainment at its best.

Aw, c'mon - let's be real, for a moment, shall we?
How many people really knew who Alesha, Jill, Mark, Darren, Gethin, Matt or Austin were before they appeared on Strictly? They became popular because of what we learned about them while they were on the show - not because of who they were before.
The whole point of the show is that we, as the audience, get to know the celebs. If we know them all inside out before they've even set foot on the dancefloor, what's the point of watching?
There were some truly appalling names being bandied around before SCD7 started: Geri Halliwell (
), Sharon Osborne (), Johnny Vegas () ... I, for one, am over the moon none of those horrors are on the show.There was no less dancing than usual, and no more waffle (if anything, less, I'd say). If you don't like it, please feel free to turn over.
My only gripe from the first batch is that it appears a little short on characters - so many of them were petrified that it was hard to get a handle on who they are ... but hopefully that will emerge in the weeks ahead.

Umm - I knew something about all the celebs on last series before they appeared. And Geri/Johnny/Sharon ?- actually I think that could have been pretty interesting!.....
We will have to agree to differ - and yes I am fully aware that I can switch over if tonight is no better. I just wanted SCD to pull me in from the start as it has done on the other series.

Totally agree. That's one of the pleasures of the show for me and one of the reasons I like ITT. I like seeing how the relationships develop and getting to know more about the celebrities personalities e.g before last year's show I had no idea that Jodie Kidd was such a likeable person.
