I've logged on to discuss tonght's dancers and all I've done so far is got into arguments about Alesha's ability as a judge - I say give her a change.

I absolutely drooled over professional Mathew Cutler tonight for a start. I was disappointed with the policeman and the boxer but pleasantly surprised with Eastender Groves, despite his remarks from the judge. Poor Linda Bellingham, even if she was the most amazing dancer, does not stand a chance - age and size rules I suppose.

Anyway, I good start and anticipating the usual excitement - including change in my favourites.

Matthew Cutler rules!!!

Yes!

Ali and Brian were good, though, weren't they. Ali is a lovely girl.

I thought Lynda Bellingham did well, I loved the way she acted. Good on her.

Shame about Joe and Kristina but I hope he improves. There was so much hype about him and it was a bit of a let down to see him but never mind, there is time.

Hi Vincy

I had a feeling people's feelings about Alesha might over-ride the opening show of the series. I love the girl, but so long as she's nothing more than an amateur, I'll never be able to take her comments and scores seriously. But that's all I'll say on the matter now as Arlene simply won't be back and we'll just have to accept that.

Chris stood out tonight. Partly because I assumed he'd be a rubbish mover and he was actually very good! By contrast, the hype surrounding Joe made his lacklustre offering especially disappointing.

Lynda looked better in her rehearsal footage (I saw nine minutes worth on YouTube). I think nerves got the better of her. And that dreadful frock they plonked on her did her no favours either.

Thankfully its all being merged into one thread now.The response to Alesha was sadly pretty predictable.

I Think strictly is back on form, no clear favourites unlike last year, which made the show a bit dull imo.
