What a fabulous job Aliona did with Matt all the way to the final 2.

Sadly the Glitterball was not to be, but 2nd was no small achievement.

I think Alona and Matt have a good chance of winning if the other dance is a good match for the Samba. If Len does pipe up about the flick-flacks not being part of the Samba, I hope Matt points out that its a Brasilian dance and he's seen the Brasilians do it that way.

The other dance might be the Tango, AS or maybe the Foxtrot. The VW is too safe a dance and not really a crowd-pleaser IMO. The tour has been won the last two years while dancing a Tango, so I think that would be the best choice from the point of view of winning. It has very good choreography and music and there are a few things Matt can and probably would improve on. Aliona could maybe improve slightly the Paso style ending, particularly the bent knees spin.

This is Matt's first chance to get some time to perfect a couple of dances, so I think he will benefit from that and show more improvement than Kara on the tour.

Hopefully they will have more colourful costumes for the Samba - usually the tour colours are very bright - sometimes too bright. And I hope Aliona gets to choose her own hair colour and goes for the colour she has in this photo.

Good luck to them on the tour - I'd be happiest to see them win it.

couldn't agree more with what you say - I think M&A will win quite a few nights on the tour and no-one deserves it more.

I'm hoping for Foxtrot or Tango simply because they'll come across best in a big arena. AS would be great but I think K&A are doing theirs and I really don't need to see that red blouse again...... also a hell of a lot of ladies cottonned on to M&A after his 'sexy side' started to show so nows the time to start paying back! I'd die to see the AT again but I know that won't happen so Foxytrot / Tango please!!!

As far as Samba costumes go its got to be Aliona's Blackpool one but Matts final one. She looked amazing at Blackpool.

I think I described Alona's Blackpool costume as horrific, but that was overstating my opinion just a wee bit. I thought her hairstyle was unflattering and the blue fringes didn't match anything. Just shows how we all see things differently.

Just wanted to say that seeing Aliona yesterday at the 02 was amazing. I know that Aliona is beautiful and amazing dancer however in real life......... absolutely stunning.

Matt and Aliona. What a great team they were

Its been a great Series for Aliona and one that will be hard to top.

Firstly Matt turned out to be the celeb partner of Aliona's dreams, as she listed here:-

Matt gave everything 100% was fun, backed Aliona in everything she did and was able to deliver every difficult choreography Aliona and he came up with.

You can see the essence of how they worked together and how they basically didn't worry about the judges and just aimed to thrill the audience and be happy with what they did.

The tour was the confirmation that what they were doing really pleased audiences and just finished off their adventure perfectly.

I thought the Tango outfits weren't as good as on SCD, but in the tour Samba Aliona looked gorgeous.

They had one of the times of their lives and now happy memories, as do I.

I'm sure Aliona will be invited back next year.

A bit more full on and passionate than last year's with Rav, and with beautiful arm work from Aliona, but I think Aliona kept the heat down a little so as not to distract Matt (except for 1:18).
