Another thing I was reflecting on was about Harry and 'girlie dancing'. I could see that he genuinely did have a very slight tendency to occasionally look a bit girly when dancing, but he seemed to have a really deep seated hangup about it when they were discussing it on ITT.

My suggestion was for Aliona to 'bitch slap' him out of it, but Aliona has studied psychology and she handled it in a very sympathetic way. She left the hip work out of the CCC and we got the most manly CCC I have seen on strictly. By the time we got to the Rumba, Aliona got him to work his hips but in the manly way required for the Rumba.

I think it did probably hold Harry back a bit in his latin and I would like it to be possible to have just flicked a switch and it be gone, but it probably made the bond between them stronger that Aliona got him all the way through Strictly without him ever looking like he was dancing like a girl.

I cant wait to see these two on the dance floor together, I really wanted Aliona to dance with Pasha last series, no disrespect to Artem of course because I think her and Artem do dance well together but I just cannot wait to see her dance with Pasha

There was talk of Pasha being best friends with Aliona's ex-partner and there being an issue resulting from that.

From what I have read, Aliona still seems to think highly of her ex.

Didn't see any signs of Aliona and Pasha not getting on last year. There were no signs of them as friends either but Pasha also seemed not to connect that much with the other pros.

I'm hoping there isn't a problem and they enjoy working together. I like them both and think Pasha did a very good job looking after Chelsee last year.

I hope this new partnership works out!

In an article I read about Pasha last year, I got the impression that he spent quite along time in the UK before the SCD last year. We know that Pasha set up a tour and went on a cruise tour (I think) ......it logical and make sense that Pasha asked for Katya as his dancing partner to carry on with post SCD activities!

I am still laughing at the decision to put the lovely ( marmite loathed and hated ) Aliona with the sainted (he who cannot do wrong) Pasha.

I do agree with you fatskia that Pasha did a wonderful job working with Chelsee!

That's one of the best photos of Aliona and the hair colour adds a lot.

This time of year, I tend to think of what dances or music I might like to see on Strictly.

It should be easier to match with different coloured dresses, and blonde seems to Aliona at least as well as any other colour.

I'm not impressed with the dance potential of a lot of the men suggested so far, but I'm hoping they end up with a better list or there is hidden potential there somewhere.
Only Nicky is a certainty to be able to dance so far.

Another song which I would like to see on Strictly, but its a puzzle as to what dance? maybe if it was slightly slower a Jive would work?

Nice dress and its the golden blonde look this year. Aliona had her best year so far for dresses last year. I think she may look even better this year. I think holding her head up slightly more would look better, but its only a minor thing.
