I LOVE Aliona!
![]() It's so lovely to see such a naturally beautiful woman, she's the most gorgeous since Lilia Kopylova IMO, as opposed to the pumped up boobs and fakery of some. Really hope Aliona is a regular again on Strictly, she deserves it, and is a great dancer! ![]() Good Luck tonight. |

Thought with the new online voting I might be able to vote from abroad, alas no
![]() Ali and Tony will have to do without my 5 votes I'm afraid, I'll be cheering for them though!!! |

Giving Tony the Charleston was likely to be very difficult for him and it certainly worked out that way.
A CCC would have been fair to him. I did all I could voting-wise for Tony to get a chance of another dance because I think giving him the Charleston was not fair to him. He is getting better but needs a dance that doesn't need a lot of energy. |

I thought Aliona was absolutely beautiful tonight. She did the best she could but alas I just don't think Tony is fit enough for the show . That said I think he is a total gentleman and did a lot better than some of the other contestants . It is very unfair to invite him to the show when some of the judges clearly weren't going to give him a chance and overmark others who barely danced just because of their entertainment value. I just pray Aliona is back in the future - her return just shows what we'll be missing .

Well we all tried.
Good effort by Tony and Aliona was her usual magnificent self. Having not watched the show maybe Tony didn't realise what the show is really like - its a tough gig. I found Tony to be a good sport and a gentleman (as you would expect). Lack of fitness is a big problem when you have to play catch-up to people a lot younger than you, but at least the Waltz showed that Tony had some dance potential. Just the pro dances to look forward to and I think Aliona has had a good series so far. I already knew she would handle anything she had to - she has all the skills the show needs. |

No surprise that they went, I guess it would only have been a matter of time.
Thanks to everyone here for doing their best, especially Fatskia for keeping the thread going ![]() Hopefully we get to see some great pro dances with Aliona

It would be nice if Aliona gets to do all the series.
As she is a stand-in I don't know how her contract is set up. Natalie should be recovered soon so we will find out in the weeks to come. Very good job by Aliona with Tony and I think Aliona and Tony should be well happy with their showing. Very gracious exit by Tony. As I said, I thought the Charleston was a dance they didn't need to give Tony. I think he would only have been around for a few dances but that pretty much closed the door on progressing. That may have upset Aliona as she has watched him push himself in training. I wouldn't be surprised if she had to make a decision to ease it right back for the sake of his health. Would have liked to see Tony tackle a CCC like most of the others. |

well done Tony and Aliona
I still cant believe the powers that be gave you a charleston for week 2 - ridiculously difficult dance at the best of times! I knew they would be first out but the 2 weeks that we had with them were fabulous, Tony is a complete gentleman and the routines Aliona choreographed for him were perfect short but sweet |

Nice to see, and about time too

Hi Olivej. Do you know how long Aliona will remain in the series for pro dances? Is she there for the series, or until Natalie returns?

How many threads are there about Aliona now !!!
Loved her dances with Tony despite the age gap they seemed to get on very well It's a shame they couldn't stay in another couple of weeks I would of liked to have seen them do another ballroom dance. But I think even in this short time Aliona has answered her critics who said she needed to prove herself with an older celebrity. She's done two lovely dances and it was more down to Tony's fitness than lack of dance ability or effort. Well done Aliona and Tony.

I think her returning has been positive . I'm over the moon she's in for another full series, There's more male than female dancers so why not . Fingers crossed for next series .

I think its a clever decision to have a theme like Aliona is choosing rather than the theme of Ola's calendars (which I think are fine by the way).
I thought the photos with the rock chick look and the tall head-dress were more 'Aliona' in that they were in keeping with her character as I see her. She does like fantasy programmes though so maybe fairytales are a part of her makeup that we haven't seen? |
