tbh I am not sure she would come back even if asked - just my hunch btw

I would miss her then ..I admit,I wasn't really a fan of her at the beginning but she really grew on me. I'm sure that she will continue to be successful either way

I think individuality is something to be encouraged. I'm not keen on all the controlling emphasis on the show and I would like to see the pros given more freedom to do their jobs using their own inventiveness.

Aliona happens to be different in a lot of ways that I like, so I like most of what she does and for me the show is going the wrong way.
Lilia, Matthew, Vincent and Flavia are also examples to me of the the type of pro the show should be using.

I can understand the way the show is going that it may be becoming less attractive to pros who have 10 dance expertise, a lot of teaching expertise and are good choreographers as all those skills are being restricted and devalued.
So I could understand if Aliona was offered a place next year that she would have to think about it long and hard whereas a few years ago it would have been a simple decision.

I am actually a bit surprised that they used Aliona so much this year and she has had some good publicity from that, so after the early exit, it has been better for her than I thought it would - which is nice.

I'm getting toward the show not being worth watching and have been recording most episodes this year. I would like things to turn around, but since there isn't really any competition from ITV they can succeed with the show the way it has gone.

Aliona may want her life to go in a new direction now, so whatever brings her the most happiness is good.

NB. I have just discovered that I can now edit my posts on the new forum layout, so it isn't all bad!

BIB I miss these 2 as well but I understand their reasons for leaving and pursuing their dreams and continue to be more succesful in whatever they choose to do . They were my favorite pro couple on the show .

Some very good points that you made

I think that pro dance on tonight's result show just emphasized what we will be missing if she doesn;t come back next year . Beautifully danced and great shaping in the lifts -no overdancing or over gurning face - just beautiful .. Well played Aliona .

Yes it was a lovely dance, I loved that lift were Anton and Pasha turned her upside down that was great. Looking forward to seeing her dance with Artem in the semi final

apart from the dance Aliona did with Aljaz that is THE only pro dance to make me say "wow"

loved it and yes, totally agree, if she doesnt come back next year its the BBC's loss

That was another of the few good pro dances this year.

Maybe they have realised what a gem they have in Aliona because she has featured a lot this year and will again at Christmas?

First of all I thought Aliona looked absolutely gorgeous. Her hair really suited her and it behaved itself through the dancing. She has beautiful eyes and the crystals on her eyelids surprised me by working quite well.
Her transitions were so smooth - it was a fantastic opening to the dance.
A nice surprise to see Aliona featured - and in a well choreographed dance, so I am well happy. Something worth watching over and over from series 11 - can't say that too often.

Off the top of my head, when I am deleting the recordings of this series, I will be keeping this dance, Aliona's When I Fall in Love dance for the quality and Mark and Iveta's 'Salsa' for the quirkiness and it showed Mark at his best.

Avoiding a double dose of Claudia I never saw the results show, hence missed the pro dance

Anyone good at these things able to post a link to video? Pretty please

It was good but no - it was a couple of other choreographers - It was @SharnaBurgess and @PaulKirkland01 who choreographed it

I only thought it was Aliona because she was the main girl in the dance, and the camera focussed on her during the applause at the end. It was well choreographed by those 2

I was wondering if they let all the girls have a go at the opening sequence and chose the best to be the featured dancer?

I was impressed when I saw how perfectly trim and fit Aliona was in Florida after her ankle injuries -

- and she has kept that fitness all year.

We haven't seen much of her talents as a teacher and choreographer this series, but it was nice to be reminded of just how good a dancer she is.
She's still at the top of her game.

I expect this dance to be good!

Since Artem isn't that much taller than Aliona-in-heels, I'm guessing his expression is a combination of the grip Celine has on him and being told to stand on something (or his tippy toes) because she is so tall.

I just looked up Celine's height and she is 5' 7 1/2" so Celine and Artem fit with that and it looks like Aliona is the one standing in a hole.

So Aliona danced in slippers - that explains the heights in the photos.

Another beautiful dance by Aliona and Artem and definitely a keeper.

They danced an equally powerful and beautiful dance to Alfie Boe singing Bridge over Troubled Water and on that occasion I thought Alfie's performance of the song wasn't as strong as the dance, but this time I thought both were matched.

Here it is in high definition.

This is the 'Titanium' pro dance featuring Aliona.

Her new hairstyle works perfectly in the dances and Aliona has just looked stunning in the dances. It helps when you can move like that too - she just knows how to express herself so well through dancing. Matt Baker once remarked 'She'll dance things that I'm thinking!".

Looking forward to seeing Aliona and Tony together again on Saturday. It's a shame we never got to see what Aliona might have done had they got past the first week or two.

It should be a great final with hopefully a worthy winner, which based on what I've seen should be Abbey or Natalie. I'm voting for Abbey simply because she has made the most improvement.

However it could be a sad one as I can't help wondering if it's the last time we see Aliona live on Strictly

I hope not!

Aliona is joining Brendan on his 'License to thrill tour'. I'm so pleased I might buy a ticket!

It will be nice to see Tony and Aliona back together for the final.

Maybe he has got fitter and had some dance lessons with his wife Astrid. I'd like to see his Waltz without the brain farts.

A nice finish would be to show that he has that dance potential - just wasn't fit enough. Hopefully the producers won't insist on the Charleston.

Aliona is a good replacement for Brendan's tour - she always connects well with the audience.
