I had a funny feeling he would ask her when he tweeted about a replacement .Brendan has really impressed me this year and this is wonderful news . To be honest I wish more of the pros' would break away from the tour - it's getting way to big and follows the same format year after year . I know a few do their own already but I would love them to get together in smaller venues .
Brendan has just announced on twitter that Aliona will be his leading lady! I was wondering when he would say something! I have persuaded my husband that we need to go....now I have to find a venue near kent/London that we can get to easily and then find some decent seats...,
So excited to see Aliona dance on tour....really though this year was going to dire but we really have seen a very gentle side of Aliona with Tony and few memorable pro dances with theChristmas special to look forward to.
I don't really post much now ...however
I would like to wish all my Aliona friends a Merry Christmas and Wonderful New Year!

Thanks dancing-girl, and though we seem to be few in number on this thread at least there has been quite a lot of support for Aliona this series on the main forum.

About the same price as the Strictly Tour but more Aliona for your money - sounds irresistible - I'm in.
Got tickets for my local venue today. Lucky to get 3 seats together downstairs. None on level 2, though still a few left up in the Gods!

I've just booked my tickets too, I'm made up it will be the first time I have seen Aliona dance live (I went to see the Strictly Tour last year and found out Aliona wasn't in it after I booked so this is like a Brucie Bonus so to speak.

Brendan's tour is amazing!
I saw it last year & he has some fabulous dancers with him, Crystal Main in particular is mesmerising to watch and whilst I enjoyed seeing Fauve last year, her ballroom, in my option, wasn't that great
Soooooooooo thrilled that Brendan asked Aliona to be his leading lady!! She is so excited about taking part - I cannot wait to go see this show again

Amidst all the excitement of the Brendan tour news, almost forgot it's Xmas day tomorrow and we get to see Team Mattiona #2 on Strictly Xmas Show. Going to record and watch some other time as we are going out.

Yes, things have turned out well for Aliona.
Lucky maybe, but she has been fit and ready to go and has shown how good she is in the past so that is where you make your own luck.
I guess we may not get a set of glamorous bikini shots from Miami this time.
Aliona is brilliant at spinning. I'd love to see if she could spin her way along a series of golf balls and hit all of them as she goes. Something like that would be a good publicity opportunity.

I think Aliona's came across really well this series and seems to have a good rapport with the new dancers - please please please ask her back !!

I really hope that the BBC bosses reconsider their decisions and ask her back next year. She has been a bit unfairly treated imo.

Good performance in the Christmas Special.
It looked classy, smooth and flowed well.
It was very cleverly choreographed as Matt seemed not to do so well in hold, so in-hold was kept to a minimum.
They both looked stylish and elegant - as did the dance.

Matt looked like he was new to dancing and did forget a section of the group dance, so I think the American Smooth was actually quite a success in that it had a really good look to it.
Aliona used every trick in the book in the choreography to get that stylish and elegant look.
Her dress was fantastic too and her walk in it at the start of the dance - nobody could do that better.
The lower back strap broke very early into the dance, but fortunately wasn't crucial.

finally caught up with the Christmas Special and I have to say I thought Aliona and Matt were by far the best on the show - very Fred and Ginger, classy, sophisticated, elegent, Matt did really well with a complicated routine, Aliona really threw everything at him and he danced really well - tbh and this is only my opinion, I think Flavia and Rufus won because Flavia isnt doing the show anymore and many people miss her (I do miss her btw) I personally dont think their routine (was it an AT or just a tango, couldnt work out which) was as good as Matt and Alionas but hey ho
I thought Matt looked to be the one with the least dance experience of all the celebs (ie. almost none).
He forgot part of the fairly simple group routine and I thought he was concentrating a lot during the American Smooth dance.
He has a nice smile, but seemed out of his comfort zone for bits of the dance and seemed to be disappointed with his performance after the dance.
Having learned it and then had to refresh it after a break, he may have been dancing it better at the end of the Las Vegas training.
He seems to mostly be a bit introverted, yet he also can interact well and he does have a nice smile. If he had been confident and smiled throughout the dance it would have helped.
I thought it was a masterpiece of choreography by Aliona to reduce the in hold time and incorporate simple but good looking lifts. The end result was a very nice looking routine without Matt having to dance that well, but he did point his toes when kicking, his timing was good and his shaping was quite good. If he had hardly ever danced before, they did well in the short training time to get him to that level.

She has an instinct for knowing what looks right, be it dancing, costume or clothes.
She is the most expressive dancer - especially with her arms. You cannot learn it, she must just know by instinct exactly what to do with her arms at every second when dancing.

I'm sure Brendan is relieved that the skiing is over and Aliona is unscathed. I reckon she will have been extra careful. Even though she is probably an expert skier, what happened to Michael Schumacher just shows that even experts can have accidents while being careful.
