[quote=fatskia;72420385]The way I look at those things Gill, is that their opinion only affects me if I think its got some value, and I am the one who decides that.

It seems they are looking forward to having a family. They may put that off if Aliona is offered a contract for Strictly, but it means if she isn't offered a contract, they have another option.

I found it interesting that Aliona said that Vincent adores her. Vincent certainly pulled out all the stops to win her heart. Anyone following Aliona's tweets could surmise that she adores him. They seem very relaxed together and Aliona's parents found them to be surprisingly alike, so I think they don't have to work at being a couple, its just natural. I guess that's what Anita recognised in Vincent - that he made her think of Aliona.[/QUOTE

No fatskia I shouldn't let horrible people who have got nothing better to do and are full of hate for someone they don't even know get to me. I've just quietly added my congratulations to the comments.
On a happier note it looks like Aliona and Vincent have had a lovely wedding they do look very good together and from their holiday pictures share the same hobbies they look so happy and obviously adore each other.
How made up must Anita Dobson be
It would be great if Aliona was offered a place in Strictly this year I would love to see her with someone she could have a decent run with. Fingers crossed

Thanks olivej,

Interesting that Anita knew Aliona well enough to not say Vincent was a possible suitor - just a nice guy she should meet.
Custard flavoured wedding cake - I like it!

Aliona is nicely slim at the moment and actually looks very tall in the wedding photos.

It paid off last year for Aliona to have kept herself very fit and train hard at her dancing. She was then able to fully justify hiring her for Strictly and Brendan's tour.

Its a another interesting 'if' to see if Aliona changes now that she is married. I like that she has a 'smokin' hot' thread with pictures like this for the guys.

I like that she does what she thinks is right as much as the producers will allow, and I also like to see the 10 dances choreographed to unusual music. Who else is there to give me hope of seeing a quickstep to?

I have never been bothered about who wins Strictly, but I would like to see Aliona take another celeb to the final, just to see if she changes. I like her as she was so I hope she is much the same.

Lovely photos! Beautiful wedding dress and Aliona looked stunning. Congratulation to the happy couple!

Btw, I couldn’t help myself not to think M&A’s VW when I saw the beautifully decorated garden arch in one of their wedding photos.

Aliona and Derek Hough on tour.

As Craig would say, 'Aliona's transitions between amalgamations were not even the slightest bit crumbly.'

A song which might work for a comedy Salsa?

Following up from your post EMMAJC,

Some new wedding photos.

http://twitpic.com/e3vfct

There's something very touching about a father handing over his daughter into the care of another man.

Great photos fatskia!

Gorgeous bride and groom....they do look they are in love...I couldn't believe Aliona's husband is 41. He looks v young. I thought he's as young as Aliona.

Would be nice to see Aliona's dad from the front giving away his beautiful daughter.

The beautiful garden arch does remind me of M&A's VW though. I'm hopeless.

Vincent does seem to have weathered well!

He does seem very adept at doing all the right things and seems to be able to do style and taste while also not taking things too seriously.

From the little hints Aliona dropped over the last couple of years, I thought maybe she was indicating what her dream romance would be, because it was all so classy and romantic. Turns out it was reality! Its un-natural for a man to be that thoughtful and romantic - he must have been looking it up in a book surely?

Anyway, they have now settled down to the drudgery of married life.

Time flies, and I'm guessing we will soon find out the pro line up for this autumn.

What does everyone think. Aliona back, or not?

Dunno teeswolf.

On the one hand, they didn't choose to have Aliona in the lineup last year.

On the other hand, they were quick to hire her when Natalie got injured and they gave her several tasks to do throughout the series and the Christmas show and she performed all of them to a very high standard, showing the decision to bring her back was an intelligent one.

Lovely photo! It is a double beach chair they were sitting on? I’ve never seen anything like that. Distinct and romantic! Look like they have a lovely time together on their honeymoon. Anita did a great job as a matchmaker, didn’t she? It seemed Aliona’s fate has been turned around surprisingly in her favour in last 2 years from the bad to the best. She was out and then dropped without her knowledge but she has found her soul-mate and got a chance to come back on strictly as a good stand-in. She even had a chance to perform on Brandon’s live tour so all turned out wonderfully. Happy to see her settled down and having a happy married life.

Yes EMMAJC,

Things have turned out very well for Aliona, but she has worked very hard over the years and had to make her way in the world, often on her own, so I think she is deserving of her good fate.

Last year Aliona did a very good job with Tony - who was always going to be out first, even without giving him the Charleston in week 2.
Then with Christopher Dean, that was a very fast routine and Aliona did very well to adjust and keep it on track all the way to the end.
Matt Goss is a nice guy but not overly talented in the dance area. Aliona easily coped with getting a good looking routine out of him under nominally difficult circumstances.
I'm a believer that you can't guarantee your good luck, but you can make it more likely to happen if you work hard in the right direction.

Aliona is back.

Good decision, because she showed last year that she can be a great asset to the show.

Really happy with this news. Surely after her last 2 partners she will get a contender this year

I suspect Iveta and Joanne will be in the queue ahead of Aliona. I expect they are both capable of getting the two men with the best dance potential to their dance potential.

Maybe Janette would be placed up the queue too, although I think she would do better with a celeb who had a chance of winning on popularity a-la Chris Hollins.

There are so many pros and so few celebs with potential, that the meagre pickings have to be shared around.
Having manufactured a female winner last year, it may be open again for a male winner, so we may not see an 'Ashley' manoeuvred out the exit this year.

I'm hoping there will be less interference regarding music and choreography this year and the pros will get to do their own thing with very few restrictions, but I'm not expecting it.

Innovation and taking chances seems to be a thing of the past, but the X-Factor may actually reverse it's fortunes this year and be real competition. If it does, last years SCD offering won't cut it and they may take some risks.

On the plus side, they did hire Aliona quickly last year and used her to good effect. Iveta turned out to be able to choreograph entertaining routines and Aljaz handled his first year very well. Anya was a good addition and did choreograph well (if a bit conservatively) so I'm hoping they use her in preference to the Burn the Floor flavour.

Last series my favourite surprise dance was Iveta's 'Salsa' to Bom Bom, because it was well choreographed to unusual music, which is something I would like to see more of on Strictly (albeit with a lot of the specified dance included).

Hopefully Aliona does get a contender, stays in for a while and is allowed to choreograph 'Vilani Style'.

This is more run-of-the-mill but I think it could suit an American Smooth?

I guess they have to frequent places that people who buy private jets frequent.

Aliona fits right in - very elegant.

http://twitpic.com/e6dyha/full

I guess that's progress. The feisty 25 year-old who arrived on Strictly always could conform very well but chose not to. Now its a different situation. I'll miss the unpredictable and hot Aliona, but circumspect and elegant is OK in its own way.

Yes, especially as their run in the competition was so brief. I would really love to see Tony in the audience watching Aliona take part in this year's final

I guess Tony and Vincent were both engrossed with the Open recently. Nice to see that the friendship is on-going.

It sounds like the choreography will again be dictated a bit this year, but I'm hoping the pros will get freedom to choose their music and choreography.

I think there is plenty of scope for innovation with the 10 standard dances, so I don't think Strictly needs to go far from its roots to be fresh.

eg. I'd like to se a Rumba to this.

I was engrossed with the Open as my each way bet on Rickie Fowler came in

Can't be long before the celebrity names roll in, and we can speculate who Aliona will get this time!
