Just wondering if anyone sees DWTS as a possibility for Aliona? She does live over the pond, right? I would have thought twice Strictly Come Dancing champion and runner up in 6 actual attempts would make a pretty good CV!

Much rather she did that than some reality show like CBB, which is rumoured for some.

Of course any chance of a few shows with Jay reprising their Strictly dances would be welcome with me

I always thought she was a better fit for DWTS tbh, especially in her earlier days. Something about her dancing reminds me of Karina, the best female dancer DWTS ever had IMO. Then again, going by their more recent hires they care even less about 10 dance experience than Strictly currently seems to (though I do like Janette et al)

Aliona and Artem did dance on DWTS together once- and even though I'm biased I thought they totally blew the other couple out of the water with no effort whatsoever- but Artem has been sidelined ever since he went over there even though he was probably the most popular pro around during his time here. Who knows? It might not be likely, but I hope she tours in something again because I'd love to see her live

yeah I will miss her ...gutted as I have said before. But my guess is that when SCD 2016 comes round I will still be watching it!

I am writing in this thread for the first time. I discovered Aliona mostly last year after her magic partnership with Jay.
But was really pleasantly surprised to know more about her and her amazing dancing and personal skills.
Maybe most of you have already seen it, but wanted to share her dances from 7-8 years ago with her then partner Leonid Proskurov. They were dynamite together! Enjoy!

Thank you for the video katt, it's amazing! As a fan, I'm (very selfishly, I know) really sad that she seems to be seriously thinking of quitting dance altogether, but I hope she's very happy in whatever she does next

Yes it is very sad and I will miss seeing her. I understand how Matt, Harry, Jay and many others found her to be such a sweet person, and she has a lot of traits that I like and admire.

Retiring at the top is a great way to go, and there is a good chance that SCD could line up the first week exits again.
It's been a great 7 years and I join you and others in wishing Aliona and Vincent a joy filled future. I will keep an eye out for good news about them.

Great video katt, I know Aliona has had some duffers on the main show but she has had some crackers in the specials. Her AS with Matt Goss is a favourite of mine, just sheer Hollywood style and glamour.

I'm also pleased you included her waltz with Tony Jacklin which, I thought, was a rather lovely effort from him.
