I have trawled thru several threads but can't find one saying who was eliminated last night?

I know we often have people there who let us know, did we for last night?

Sorry if this has been discussed but if so perhaps some kind soul will point me in the right direction.

Ta ever so

Erm, I don't think you've been paying attention. There is another show tonight and at the end of that one couple will be eliminated.

There was no elimination last night as all couples dancing in the first week get the chance to do a latin and a ballroom before voting starts. All the results are going to be live this year so there will be no spoiler threads. SCD is on again tonight and the voting lines will be open. The dance off will take place at the end of tonight's show. The same pattern will be repeated with the other couples next week.

Ermmmm yes of course I know it is on TV tonight but both sections were filmed last night so the result is already known!!!!

In the paper today and I quote 'Part of the opening show went out live last night with the contestants performing a tango or a waltz, while vieewers will see the rest of it on TV tonight in a pre-recorded section'

After all the Beeb arent going to get audiiences in on two consecutive nights are they, waste of money when they can do it all in one go.

That's what they did last year after all.

So anyway, I take it no one knows the result??

Erm, love, tonight is very much live. Look at what the pro's are saying on Twitter, ffs.

If it wasn't live, why were the BBC letting us apply for tickets for a show tonight then. Duh!

Someone will get knocked out today so no, the result is not know!

Are you being totally serious?

No it's live tonight.

They haven't even opened public voting, so there can't possibly have been an elimination yet.

Sorry but your wrong......tonights show is live too..........there was NO VOTING last night......no telephone numbers for voting were given out........so no voting took place and no elimination took place. They are dancing again tonight live and then phone lines will open.

Whatever paper that was in was wrong.

It's only for the first two weeks in order to allow each couple to perform both a ballroom and latin dance before they're eliminated.

Obviously slightly different scenario since that was the results show and this is another performance show.

wouldnt it be better to give them all a chance to do every dance before judging or would that take too long.

Well of course they wont open the voting till tonight. But as a licence payer I would hope that they would be more circumspect with my money than to film over two nights when they can get the same result doing it on one, certainly makes sense to me.

But anyway, as I said you have answered my question, no one on here has the result. Just wondered if it had been on a thread that I had missed that's all.

Well if they don't open the voting until tonight there can be no result until tonight!!!

It's that simple! Now stop winding everyone up and trying to make us believe something we know isn't true.

I would imagine small bits of Strictly are pre-recorded, like the opening pro-dance last night could have been(not that I'm saying it was, but it would have made it easier for the pros to be wardrobe ready for the 'meet the stars of our show' bit it it had been pre-recorded).

Maybe tonight they'll show the group dance by the other 8 celebs again (so that would be pre-recorded), or Tom and Camilla's performace as current champions might be pre-recorded. If they have a musical guest, that too could be pre-recorded - this happened last year a few times, with the musical performance and dance being recorded on Saturday afternoon a few hours before the live show, but not shown until Sunday as part of the results show.

Regarding the actual competition dances, judge's comments and scores, talk with Tess, results, and dance-off, I would imagine that's all live, at most subject to a slight delay (between 10 and 20 seconds) in order to filter any accidental bad language.

It would actually make no sense at all. They'd have to film the pre-recorded bits after last night's show which would have meant them finishing after midnight.

Also, how can they record the results part of the show when no voting has taken place so they've got no results.

I believe this stupid rumour was started by a piece of dreadful reporting in - surprise, surprise - the Mail.

It could have been but obviously wasn't because the pro ladies were still in their pro dance costumes and hadn't changed to their ballroom outfits.

That did often happen. Often because, I think, the music guest couldn't be arsed to wait around until later to do their bit!

It hasn't been in the past but they might be thinking about doing it what with Bruno's tendency to forget himself ('The hills are alive with the sound of bullshit' )

I dont think the OP still quite believes us

They are only having a Friday and Saturday show for the first 2 weeks thens its one live show on Saturday. They have never pre-recorded the pro/celeb dancing ever except group dances for the old Sunday results show......all the other competition dancing has been live.
