Just been reading some of the threads on Alesha, and some of the comments on here are quite harsh.

I agree, Arlene should still be on the show but give Alesha a chance. It was only her first night after all. The Beeb have made their choice, and I doubt they're going to change their minds nows. At the most, if they realize us public are unhappy then they might bring Arlene back next year, but definitely not this year..

She might be reading this forum and please think for a moment how you would feel if you read all those unpleasant remarks about you. I know I would have felt really bad and terrible (and hurt as well) if I was in her place.

Im not saying dont speak your mind as it is a public opinion after all, but atleast spare a thought for the poor girl.

Please feel free to bash me now.. (I'll go and get my coat..)

I think she actually knows she is not good enough, I got the impression last night she wanted to say as little as possible to avoid looking daft, besides with the wedge she is on I am sure she can take the criticism.

I don't feel bad at all. She shouldn't have taken the gig because she is not qualified to do it. Full stop.

The big problem is what she is going to say after she has exhausted the "you looked very nervous" and "you looked lovely comments".

I could not stand Arlene but FGS there must be some other judges they could have asked. Karen Hardy immediately springs to mind.

There are about six phrases she can come out with and I reckon she used them all last night.

I don't think she will be that bothered. She is getting paid and she knows she has no technical knowledge. It doesn't work with Alesha, the show loses credibility and the panel is not at all dynamic without Arlene. I think people should keep on speaking about how they feel on all srtictly forums as long as the comments are not personal or nasty, then the BBC will have to listen and not bring her back next time.

this is an internet forum, open and honest opinions should be aired.

if alesha doesnt like the heat - simply stay out of the kitchen

i didnt like her, found her laugh incredibly annoying, her lack of dance knowledge is ridiculous. everything seemed to be about a dancers looks rather than there, err, dancing

The big problem will be when it comes to a dance off decision the public does not like. People will argue, rightly IMO, that we have as much right to choose as she has because she has not expertise. There were enough disputes about the views of four expert judges!!!!

I think that if they wanted to go down the celeb route thy should have had a different guest judge on each week and loose the dance off.

I don't think the problem lies with Alesha, its the person/persons who choose her to do a job she's not qualified to do. The comments she made last night showed she had no technical knowledge of the dances and basically just said whether she liked the dance or not - any of us could of done that for half her fee

Oh, don't be nasty about her. She does have feelings you know. She's "special". She was hit over the head with a glitterball when she was young. It's not her fault...

When Joe Calzaghe steps into the ring he expects to be there on his own merits. A middleweight, he will not step in against the heavyweight champion. If he does he will be expecting a painful end.

Anyone who does not like the heat is free not to go into the kitchen.

I have nothing against Alesha, but she knows in her heart that she shouldnt have taken this job no matter how much she wanted to be on SCD again. Therefore if she reads harsh comments she really only has herself to blame. I expect (like everything strictly) it will all settle down and things will move on.
