Are you ready for 2 1/4 hrs of Strictly?

I was wondering what would happen when we have 14 dancers in week 3 plus voting and dance off all in one show.

The answer is apparently one massive 2 1/4 hr show, running from 19:00 to 21:15.

For those who are interested, X Factor is currently due to run 20:00 - 21:30.

Of course, these are set in stone yet but with such a long show there's little manoeuvrability.

I would LOVE a big massive long episode, some may get bored but say if the ones I really want to see are on last (Laila & Tuffers) then that will get me more excited

I think the BBC may have made the tiniest of mistakes there

I'm pretty sure after 90 minutes or so plenty of viewers are going to find it a tad repetitive and switch over to the X Factor.

They can't really win though, with the amount of competitors they have. If they kept up the two groups thing for a whole month like they did last year, people'd complain about that, too. It might be better to lose a couple of competitors for next year, perhaps.

Absolutely. I've thought that for at least two years now, but the BBC can't seem to resist dragging it out for as long as possible!

That's not just the BBC though. Most reality shows seem to put more and more competitors in as the series go on - some of the later series of Big Brother had insane amounts of overall housemates in them!

Personally, I quite enjoy long series of Strictly, but... two and a quarter hours certainly seems a long time for one episode...
