That was the point I was trying to make sorry if it didn't come across that way.

I think people should leave off the Natalie criticism - she clearly has enough on her plate.

I personally am not a huge fan of natalie, for some reason I still see her as Sonia in eastenders and 'sonia' really annoyed me...she was punching way above her weight with that blonde boyf of hers! anyway...that was just a character.

I think one thing is certain, Natalie will put all her effort into this competition and she'll probably surprise everyone and her first dance will be good, she'll throw herself across the dance floor and the judges will love her BUT i fear that the viewers won't be a fan of hers and I can genuinely see her being up for elimination, probably with Jo Wood.

I can't speak for my 'community', but I will be voting for whoever's performance I enjoy - of course only if I can manage to waddle across the floor to the phone in the fifteen minutes allocated for voting - and there is always the risk that my fat fingers won't be able to accurately press the buttons  .

This is one of the nastiest threads I have ever seen on this board. It is like watching school bullies in the playground.

currysocks I had no idea there was any such thing as 'the fat women vote' and I'm sure you will be glad you didn't bet any money on Natalie Cassidy not being able to dance as clearly she can (at least according to world renowned dance expert Shirley Ballas).

The sad thing is that you seem to think you are supporting 'curvier' women (three size 12/14 models on a catwalk - big deal), when quite frankly judging by your comments on here your whole attitude towards women is appalling! Do you honestly think women are overweight because they don't know about healthy eating and exercise? It is much more about self esteem than anything else!

Yes, Natalie (why not use her first name instead of calling her 'Cassidy' in such an aggressive manner?) made a keep fit DVD and yes, she will have made money from doing so.

BUT you are missing the point.

I don't watch EE and I am not a 'fan' of Natalie, but the reason I admire her is because after losing all that weight and making the DVD, she then spoke out publicly about how she regretted it. She told the media that she realised how impossible it was for her to maintain such a thin body shape in a healthy way - that missing meals and taking laxatives was no way to live her life.

That is an excellent message to send to all 'your girls' who want to look like Cheryl Cole, etc. Believe it or not, unless you have a small frame and are naturally very slim, eating healthily and exercising will not result in the body shape that most young women still aspire to be.

So how do you encourage 'your girls'? Is is by saying, "Don't eat that...run faster...put more effort into it... or you'll end up looking like Natalie Cassidy?" I'm sure that will help them build a positive body image as they go into their teen years.

Yay Buddy - was wondering if we should alert the school to expect an outbreak of eating disorders in a few years time! And what is this thing with calling people by their surname - seems almost feudal these days.

Well done Buddy for putting that teacher with the appalling attiutude in his place - thank goodness no child of mine attends his school. I would like to thank you for your post because what you wrote needed to be said and you did it brilliantly.

To be fair to wotsisname, he's not totally wrong - although, yes, he has put it in an offensive way.

Natalie will likely have some appeal to the "everywoman" vote, because she looks normal.

She's not "fat", she's normal. It's just that we're all so used to seeing skinny-as-^%& women on TV that our internal TV filters automatically classify normal people as "fat".

But yes, I imagine that, like John Barnes, there'll be a "weight loss" element to her journeystorythingy.

Because That's Good Telly.

More to the point, how does he encourage his boys? Don't want any of those lardy-a*sed boys in currysocks' playground, no siree!

I do think Natalie is seriously annoying, but it has nothing to do with her size.

I must be confusing this Natalie Cassidy with another one who shamelesly flogged a "lose weight" DVD only to reveal later that she lost the weight by taking laxatives.
Hardly a good example to set to young girls is it?

Personally i prefer the more curvy woman and have enjoyed the new larger catwalk model in the news this week.
I wouldn't describe the gorgeous pro dancers as skeletal and wouldn't watch the show if they all had the stick-insect build of Tess Daly.

Despite having a mind like a "bee's arse" i work with primary school children every day and encourage healthy eating and exercise.I don't encourage my girls to be like Natalie Cassidy.”

You're not a teacher, then?

TBH I don't have a problem with that and I'm not trying to say Natalie isn't overweight. I do have a problem with a guy coming on this thread and purporting to be supporting curvier women and encouraging young girls to eat healthy foods and exercise, whilst saying things like...

And on yet another thread...

Jo Wood - Old
Natalie Cassidy - Fat
Lynda Bellingham - Old and fat
Martina Hingis - Drug cheat (eliminated)
Jade Johnson - Masculine
Ali Bastian - Nice legs, shame about the face
Zoe Lucker - See Ali Bastian
Laila Rouass - Never heard of her so can't be that fit.

Thank goodness for the female pro's otherwise the show would be completely unwatchable for me.

The BBC need to get their finger out and bring us some real celebrity glamour next year...

...Serious actress[Lynda Bellingham]?
This is the woman most famous for the Oxo commercials and for bearing her breasts in Confessions Of A Driving Instructor.”

From what I saw of her training, Natalie looks like she could surprise a few people.

The girl's definitely got rhythm and she's really going to sell both dances.

I think I'm most excited about seeing her and Vincent's routines. And he was very sweet to say "he can't wait to show her off" - Natalie will get a real boost from hearing those words

Well Jo Wood can hardly be described as a larger woman and she looks pretty hilarious so they should lay off the size thing.

Yep reckon Shirley is better qualified to give an opinion.

I am so pleased you are not a teacher at our local school. I thought they were committed to stopping schoolplace bullying, not using teachers to propogate it! Nasty piece of work. Not fit to be near children and give them unhealthy body-image. As damaging as being overweight in the first place.

I think they should all be given a chance to dance first before we start tearing them apart. If they are rubbish then we can say so, but thus far we just don't know how they will perform on the night

Natalie is such a delightful girl, I have always liked her. Her enthusiasm is infectious, I am really looking forward to seeing her.

Hi Sweetie <smooch>

Vincent does seem very happy with Natalie and she looked very good in the VT training clips - looking forward to seeing her dance on Saturday!

Well, I'm a larger woman and I'm not enjoying seeing Natalie dancing at all. I quite like her in EastEnders but all i can see is Fat Sonia doing her best. As disastrous and annoyng as her trumpet playing.

She reminds me of myself at school gym displays - trying hard but frankly ridiculous. And even her hair and make up don't seem as nice as the other dancers.

She is however, reminding me to restart my own diet asap....

Poor Vincent....I AM admiring his acting skills as he pretends to be thrilled with the situation.

That thing with Natalie is, that she actually thinks she's going to win it. Oh how i'd love it for her to be voted out on Saturday Another thing, is she seems to be the Official Strictly Spokesperson for Contestants. Anything that gets printed - you can be sure Natalie has a say on it!

There's no chance of that, I think the final will be between Natalie, Lynda Bellingham, Tuffers and Joe C....
