Len does consistently come up with these contentious decisions so imho it is unfair to give him so much power. I'm no expert but martina clearly looked to be a better dancer.

they could maybe let the studio audience vote if its 2-2.

Len only did what he was told to do by the BBC.

When free to do so, he usually makes fairly decent judgment calls, Gabby excluded. That assumes the whole show isn't a stitch up week in week out.

I agree with Len that Rav did a much better performance in the dance off and i'm glad he saved Rav and Aliona. Neither couple should have been in the bottom but that's the show.

Why not have the remaining competitors cast a vote in the event of a tie? (similar to how they used to do it in 'Fame Academy'.)

I agree. I thought Rav's "attitude" (I don't know the technical term) was good in both the Tango and the Rumba.
He captured the "spirit" of the dance..does that sound better ?
I thought he was under-marked on the previous night. I thought Martina was ok and showed potential, it's a pity either of them were in the bottom two.
Lynda was over-marked on both nights, and Joe..well, what can you say. It's going to be another of those years, but it all adds to the fun.

I thought Rav did better in the dance off than Martina - there was more passion between him and Aliona than between Martina and Matt, and their ancing ability is similar it was going to be a hard choice.

While I agree it's unfair that Len has the casting vote, I don't think we can really blame the judges tonight. They were very much put between a rock and a hard place by the 'great' British public.

Strictly is a joke this year I doubt I shall watch much more roll on the X.”

You`re acting as though Alesha was the only one to vote to keep M/M as if it were favouritism on her behalf

So what was Craig`s reason for saving them ?

They might as well just let Len have the lone voting decision and forget about asking the other judges who they want to save.

What makes you think that?

I first mentioned it back when I first heard that Len had a "casting vote", which was years ago.

Your comment made it sound like you were surprised and shocked by this fact, that's all.

As soon as Martina was left in the bottom four, I knew she'd be a goner.

She was the only big name non-British and non-resident contestant. I doubt the BBC wanted to spend licence fee payer's money on paying for her accommodation until the end of December when they could be spending it on lavish staff piss ups or J Ross Esq's salary. I also doubt Martina wanted to live in London until the end of the year, missing Christmas with her family etc.

And the previous winning pros always get kicked off early in subsequent series or get lumbered with someone useless. Karen Hardy with Gary Rhodes, Russian Minx with the bald midget she couldn't stand to be in the same room with etc etc. Camilla would've gone by week two this series if she'd carried on with the show.

And how come on X Factor, when it's two votes each, they go back to the public vote, yet on Strictly, Len gets the final say. How is that fair? It should go back to the public vote!!

And Bruno only voted for Rav because he fancies him and his muscles”

Am I allowed to say i believe the BBC needs to take a look at the voting in the dance off's, noway should Goodwin have the casting vote, in the event of a tie it should be decided by the studio audience.

Its very clear from the outset that the guy from "Crimewatch' i s a judges favorite if not the favorite to win.

The most uninspiring and pathetic lineup of Zelebrities ever in the history of SCD.

I agree that Len should not have the casting vote, but I don't think the studio audience should decide either. Len is ok on the whole but at times his opinion seems to change with the wind direction & if he's in a bad mood it's even worse. As someone said upthread: in the event of a tie it should be the couple with the lowest number of phone votes that leaves.

Selective quoting at it's very best. Did you even bother to read the rest of my post?

If you'd have been sitting in my lounge tonight when I was saying that Martina was going to go before she was even in the dance off, you'd be kissing my feet and asking me what Wednesday night's lottery numbers were going to be.

Martina was rubbish, only Joe was worse then her!

Or why not 3 judges, like (I think) they have in DWTS??

Actually, I agree in part with the OP - I do think Len is an idiot and very annoying (strangely, because for the first couple of series, he was my favourite judge!), just not specifically for anything he has done this evening.

My preferred judging panel would be:
Craig (although I do think he is going overboard a bit calling everyone darling!)
Anton (or Bruno if Anton wants to continue to be a contestant)
Arlene or Karen Hardy (I love Alesha, but would prefer a professional to be a judge!)

It's a gift.

I did.

It was xenophobic, un-sourced, irrelevant and unconvincing. Basically you simply parrotted a series of guesses, unrelated incidents, and your own prejudices, and you then presented them as indisputable facts proving a vast conspiracy.

If you actually had any evidence, I'd have bothered responding to it.

I think if there's a tie in the judges' vote then Tess should decide who stays and who goes. She'd be the best arbiter!!!!

I thought Martina was really good...

Joe was the only one worse than her? That's crazy, ffs. Lynda anyone?

i thought the point of the dance off was to give the contestants chance to improve, and I agree with the other posters who have said Rav improved, it doesnt matter who had more points in the contest or performed better earlier. Its down to who performs better in the dance off or there is no point to it.
Just my humble opinion. sit back and wait for backlash
