It is good to have someone a bit old skool to counter all the modern/over paced/irritating presenters (I am thinking Ant and Dick).

Please don't even mention Vernon. I can't bear another one who says "Com Dancing". Brucie is irreplacable. Brucie is great.

He's looking very frail at the moment.

I have a horrible feeling that when the BBC finally do decide to replace him, they will give the job to Graham Norton :s

I laughed when he said 'Welcome Back' when he was welcoming one of the new dancers.

I don't think it was even meant to be a joke.

Two nights a week will definitely take their toll on him, i dont mind him it can get a little irritating but when they do replace him im sure the slagging off will continue with the new person

I agree with some of the other posts...Bruce IS an institution but I now fear he belongs in one.

His silly little shuffling at the bottom of the stairs, to the ill-timed, un-funny "jokes"....they are just getting more cringeworthy. I used to like him but for the last 2-3 years I've found it more irritating. To the point where he's waffling on, I'm shouting "GET ON WITH IT" at the screen!

If the BBC can replace Arlene (due to her age), then I think its high time Brucie went....and if possible, could I put a request in for him to take Tess with him!

I don't like him, but I actually think he's a bit better this year (so far, anyway).

Bruce years ago was good on the Palladium, he held the show together like no other.. he does show off though and can be irritating, but he wont ever give up , he's a showman and will be till the curtain finally comes down.

Bruce Forsythe is an overpaid (£500,000) dinosaur who should have been replaced ages ago.

His "jokes" are embarrassingly bad he forgets his lines and contestants names and has to read every line of his script from his cue board.

The show openings where he promotes his self indulgent dance routines are laughable.

Come on Forsythe sling your hook PLEASE

The original CD hosts were Terry Wogan and then Angela Rippon, weren't they? A DJ and a Newsreader. What did TW know about dancing? At least BF knows his onions, its just that due to senile dementia he forgot where his onions are.

brucie did exactly the same bad jokes, asides to the audience and stuttering overr the cue cards when he did the generation game 30 years ago. it's his act. if you dont like his act or find it dated then fair enough but his age or mental capacity are not the issue.

I disagree.
The jokes are far worse than Generation Game days.
Back then. I always thought he controlled the chaos of the show and was a superb ad-libber.
Nowadays, he is slow and seems a wee bit sad.

Rightly or wrongly, that did make me chuckle

I love Bruce Forsyth, have fond memories of him on the Generation Game and Play Your Cards Right when I was younger. But I do agree that he's well past his sell-by date, his jokes are cringeworthy, and he seems to be really scatty this year.
I appreciate that he has been an integral part of the show, but the show is bigger than Bruce... and that's something I think he often, sadly, forgets.

I have to watch with my finger on the mute button. I just can't listen to him at all. His jokes are appalling. He obviously thinks so himself as he's always pointing out that 'they' told him to say these things.

Can 'they' please stop it? It drives me bonkers!

Doesn't Bruce get mentioned in the credits for writing?

So he makes up bad jokes and then pretends he had nothing to do with them when no-one laughs.

I fear you are right; we've only had two nights of Strictly and so far there have been calls for Alesha, Darcey, Len, Bruno, Craig, Brucie and Tess to be removed! And the musicians, singers and wardrobe department. Did I miss anyone? Wonder if Claudia will escape unscathed after Monday's ITT?

I sky + it and then play catch up so I dont have to listen to Bruce or Tess if I am honest. I just dont find him entertaining, his jokes are as bad as the previous year and most probably the same. When I have watched him I have cringed at how bad he is. I have friends who say that is what makes him funny as he isnt, but I just find I am embarrassed for him. Its a shame really as he was once A Great, and unfortunately he no longer is. I think it is time now for him to retire and let a younger person take the reins, who though, I dont know.

You missed out the winners Glitter Ball Trophy, I fear it's days are numbered, and the theme tune

Poor Brucie! It really wouldn't be the Strictly Come Dancing show that I know and love without him. Why all the negativity now about Brucie? He is no different now to how he has always been. (And I really do think its about time he was made Sir Brucie) He manages to connect with fans of all ages, long may he continue.

How can you say that? He clearly reads off a cue card (badly), he often misses his cue when the camera pans back onto him, he calls people by the wrong name...last night he even said "Welcome back" to a new professional dancer who's never been on the show before!!!!!

I said it because it's my opinion he has always missed his cues, got peoples names mixed up etc etc it's just Brucie.

I agree its your opinion. However, how un-professional is it then to miss cues and get people's names wrong? If it was anyone else they would be out of a job! Its only cos its "good old Brucie" that we make allowances but why should we?

I don't have the answer to that i'm afraid, i guess it's down to the BBC to decide if they want him to present it or not
