Please explain why...

People decided to Keep Joe in the competition and they get rid of Martina who was a much better dancer

Is it because he is with Kristina or is it something else

He is no John Sargeant who had fun and Joe seem like he does not want to be there

He has a much higher profile than Martina in the UK.

Martina is the biggest star the show has had, on an international level, but Joe is a bit of a national treasure and got all the Welsh votes.

I guess that he picked up a lot of the Welsh vote, whereas most of Martina's compatriots don't even get to see the show.

I usually defend those who voted for JS etal on the basis you can vote for who entertains you, but Joe wasn't just bad he looks like he hates it so I've got no idea this time

Sympathy for Kristina, lovely lady, two duff partners in a row.

Looks like she might last anyway.

That's not fair! I'm Welsh and before the series started, Joe was my favourite, but I'm not going to vote for someone who danced that badly.

But the public vote for all sorts of reasons and a lot of them have nothing to do with the dancing. He got more votes than Martina, not fair, but that's the way it goes. It's an endless personality/dance ability argument.

National Treasure christ, i'd never heard of him before SCD.

She's foreign - simple as that.

Does Joe have a high profile? (I'd never heard of him.)

He's one of the best boxers Britain has ever produced and also one of the very few fighters in the world to have retired undefeated as a professional. Having said that its perfectly understandable that many people will not have heard much about him because for the vast majority of his career his fights have been broadcast exclusively on Sky Sports and/or Pay-Per-View. He's therefore not quite the household name he deserves to be.

And of course (as you've probably already noted from the show) he's quite an introverted, dour character who's perhaps not naturally cut out for Saturday night light entertainment. Credit to him for trying though, for the past 15 years or so the only judges he's faced have been declaring him a winner so it must be pretty tough for him to suddenly be thrust in front of people who are criticising the results of his training efforts.

lol at all the people who think only the welsh are voting for joe

he's undefeated over his entire professional career and won BBC Sports Personality of the Year

can I just say as well that in the UK people only give a toss about tennis for two weeks in June, so to say Martina Hingis is 'the biggest star' on SCD is stretching it a bit

Those that voted out Hingis rather than Joe are not going to be joining Mensa this year.

According to The Radio Times, Calzaghe was 4/1 favourite. There is no way he was going out.

Really?

Six series and you don't get it yet?

It has NEVER been the case that the worst dancer each week goes out, because it's all about the public vote.

The public decide to vote for many reasons:

They vote for their favourite celeb - arguably Joe (being a home grown world champion) is more popular than Martina (being a foreign drugs cheat).

They vote for the one they feel is being picked on - so those at the bottom of the table get votes to save them whilst those a couple of places up don't because people feel they will be OK.

They vote for people who seem "nice" on television - not really sure if either Joe or Martina had time to come across as likeable, but this reason certainly didn't help Rachael Stevens previously as people never seemed to warm to her.

And of course they vote to keep bad dancers in - because it's bloody funny (see John Sergeant and possibly Joe).
