Panny freesat connection
Hi, I'm about to take delivery of a Panny TX-L37G10 (with built-in freesat), and need help in connecting to my Sky+ box.
Do I need to fit a multiple LNB to provide the extra feed for freesat to the TV, or could I use a splitter/switch to use one existing feed for both Sky and TV? Secondly, why are the F1 plugs used for digital TV's and HiFi's instead of the conventional coax plugs? (except of course where the equipment has an F1 socket) The coax plugs seem to work equally well. Apologies for the dumb newbie questions, but this is my first post on the forum. |

Welcome and not dumb questions at all!
You can't split a satellite feed really so yes, you need a multi LNB - if you already have Sky+ then you've got a quad LNB (dish) already by the sounds of it so there's probably 2 unused outputs left on the LNB ready to run another cable to. F1 ? do you mean 'F' plugs which are the screw on type that satellite receivers (Sky+) use to connect the dish cable to the receiver? These are used to ensure a better fit as voltages are present and old 'Belling Lee' coax aerial plugs aren't used for satellite receivers as not so good unless fitted and soldered correctly. |

Thanks for the info, Orbitalzone, I assumed that having only two feeds that Sky had fitted a dual-output LNB (if there is such a thing).
Better get the ladder out! |

Just had the ladder out and you were right, Nigel, it's a quad. Thanks for your help.
