Tiscali + Tuning problem
Swithin
20-09-2009
We have had Tiscali + STB for some time and have problems with the box 'losing' Freeview channels without any notice. The problem only comes to light when you get the clash warning when trying to reord.

We retune the DTT which restores all channels but the STB will lose them again sometimes within minutes of being retuned and can happen several times within minutes. At other times it maybe a couple weeks without problems. We live within yards of the main transmitter so signal strength is not an issue and using a booster makes things worse by recognising less Freeview channels than the non booosted signal does.

Any ideas if we have a problem with the box or anything else?

Thanks

I'm very close to Crystal Palace and have problems with all my PVRs losing signal - it's to do with the transmitters, I'm hoping it will be better after Digital Switchover.

It doesn't usually happen with all channels at the same time, but with one or more muxes - Mux2, which has ITV and C4 on it, is the worst (and after Sept 30, C5 will also be on that mux, so that'll be 3 main channels on flaky signals ).

Wolfbane will tell you if you've got the right aerial (put your postcode in the box):

Just something to keep you going until someone who knows what they're talking about comes along

Hi Swithin,

I've PM'd you requesting your details, also, does this problem occur when you are recording a terrestrial channel, or does this occur when you are not recording anything?

Regards

Chris
