Hi Everyone

There I was settling in with SHMBO for a new series of Strictly and secretly looking forward to it (Aleisha reservations accepted) and the dancers came down the stairs....... I couldn't believe my eyes , especialluy on Saturday, the female make up was appauling. I even go as far as to say that the girls were looking like aged porn stars. it was that bad. I realise it was for the latin dancing but the beeb could find some decent makeup artists surely.

Ola's make up last night was horrific! Her dress made up for it though!

Ola looked amazing. The dress, rather outfit was a bit tacky, tiny silver knickers, but what a figure to show off. Everyone looked super faked tanned though, a bit too much I think.

Lynda in particular doesn't suit the makeup. I'm guessing that 'stage' makeup is much more extreme than TV makeup should be? It did look like some of them were suffering from too much 'stage'.

Glad someone else noticed this.

I don't know who the make-up artist was last night but they went way over the top. Natalie Cassidy and Ali Bastian in particular looked like the slap was practically hanging off their faces.

Distracting, to say the least - and looking really rather tacky ...

...has always been tacky. Didn't you notice?

It must be the only place in 2009 where you still get turquoise eye shadow and acres of fake tan from Blackpool to Penge. Oh yes, and ghastly 'styled in gale of hairspray' up do'

It has always been naff. That's part of the whole sequins and rictus grin 'look' - and the awful gurning.

Yes, I do love dance with a passion, but I loathe the ballroom tat.

The Americans do it so much better.
