Recently I got my new Panny TV - TX-L32G10B and I am very happy with it so far. Freesat HD hasnt been installed yet though and my mum says I just have to wait as she doesnt really understand it

Anyway, for some reason I noticed that although you can turn the TV from STANDBY (red light) to ON (green light) you can't actually turn it off, theres no OFF button The only way to switch it off completely is to unplug it. Its the same with the Wii as well.

(Well that has an on/off button but it will only go to standby if you press the button).

Are there any problems with leaving the set on a lot?

Also when is the best time to use the 100Hz feature (Intelligent Frame Creation) on the TV, can it be used when watching DVD/BD or is it just for TV?

Thats perfectly normal for modern TVs. Just turn it off via the remote.

Ps. on your wii there are 3 settings.........

green light = on
orange light = standby
red light = off

hold down the power button for abut 5 seconds and it will go red, which uses slightly less power.

Most modern TV's, even if they have an ON/OFF switch, don't switch the mains. On standby a low powerr supply is running, so you can bring it back on via the remote, but when 'OFF' there's still an even lower consumption supply running, in order to accept the command from the ON/OFF switch.

There is a power switch on the right hand side next the control panel. See page 8 in your instructions.
This is a true power switch too. As all Panasonic sets have.

Did it auto tune on it's own or did you have to start the auto tuning yourself?
If it didn't Autotune but powered up out of the box chances are it was not Factory new.

Hey,
I'm still learning what IFC (Intelligent Frame Creation) does - is that really only for TV? It turns 50Hz into 100Hz or something like that - strangely theres a mid option which must be 75Hz (?)

Is it worth bothering about when watching DVD/Blu Ray?
Thanks

Most people consider it a silly idea that doesn't work, but try which settings YOU most prefer.

The IFC works really well on the Panny's except maybe for sport. If you had to start the auto-tune yourself the set was not 100% fresh out of the factory.

Huh? I'm confused now.
At least I thought I tuned in the DVB channels - but I dont remember now

It looked factory fresh to me - it had the stickers on it and that blue sticky stuff you have to peel off the edges of around the set.

Don't worry about it, it probably was brand new - a few people seem obsessed by the idea they might not be.
