Just look at some of the people criticising Alesha. But apart form that...

If Rav had been voted out however accusations would have been rife. But sadly Switzerlandism isn't too hot on the streets of Britain.

Alesha criticism racist? Really? I think you'll find that if Natasha Kaplinsky or Jill Halfpenny had been drafted in as a judge they would be getting just as much abuse as Alesha!

Natasha perhaps, but I think the public would have been much more accepting of Jill Halfpenny.

Yes, people are criticising Alesha because of the colour of her skin

"Swiss" isn't a race. It's a country. They may be prejudiced, or have a problem with someone's ethnicity, but it's not racist.

Swiss is a nationality; the country is Switzerland.

I think it was more " acism " against Martina , people dont like a winner , and she scored far too many aces in her day .

I didn't see the live show, just a recording some after the initial broadcast. She certainly didn't deserve to go; she wasn't fantastic, but there was a sign that she could improve and certainly others were worse. I don't think the voting was nationality based, more that apart from tennis fans, many are more familiar with the homegrown celebs from the media, sport etc. and she was up against some who already had quite a solid fanbase. Additionally some remember her teenage behaviour; or should that be misbehaviour. Unfair perhaps, it was a long time ago, but c'est la vie.

I can't believe your crass comment, Quizmike. I count myself as one of the people most opposed to Alesha as a judge but like very many people I loved her as a contestant. There are so many reasons to dislike her as a judge, lack of dance knowledge and experience being the main ones. And I'm sorry to say that listening to her 'judgements' makes me cringe. Do I like her now - no. Is it racism- no!

With ridiculous comments like the one above you will simply open up this Alesha question again. I was hoping to try to ignore her and sit it out until the next series when commonsense might prevail and someone who knows what they are talking about, such as Karen Hardy, gets the job.

Oh for goodness sake, just cause someone you liked got voted out, there's no need to throw your toys out of your pram.

The word racism has almost lost meaning for someone people on here...

Hello,

Firstly can I point out that this was a (bad) attempt at a joke.

If you look at the date it was posted, it was 22nd September and the thread has been dead for three weeks before being resurrected for some reason.

The post in context at the time was (to me) mildly amusing but looking upon after nearly a month makes it waaaaaay out of context. Plus it was written at 2am.

If you thought the post was serious, then looking at my next line you must believe I am also Switzerlandist.

I'm sorry if you think I was crass. At no point have I accused any particular FM of racism and I'm mortified if anyone should think that.

This is the third time this series that people have jumped up and down about something I written in all innocence. To keep everyone happy I'll just stick to straight facts and leave the forum humour free.

My apologies again.

Mike I read your humour, and please don't take any offence from others, I am familiar with what you write, and I like it.

That's kind of you Ruby. I'm not taking offence just worried about causing it.
