Beyonce in June - she killed it, sounds better live than on a record! Although Mariah or Whitney in their primes would have to top it!

I saw Springsteen for the first time at the RDS in July this year - he was AWESOME. Never seen anything like it, and it was my first rock concert ever. I'm going to see him again in Nashville in November, I cannot wait!

Well, shockingly, I'd never been to a concert before this year but I've more than made up for it, having seen Chris Brown, Pussycat Dolls, Ne-Yo, Lady GaGa, The Killers, Girls Aloud (twice), Beyonce, Kings Of Leon, Jay-Z & Coldplay, plus went to V Festival.

Beyonce was unbelievable. Just seriously amazing. Really want to go again in November. Coldplay were also incredible on Saturday, as was Jay-Z. The Killers also superb, as were Kings Of Leon. As for putting on a show, Girls Aloud and Lady GaGa are immense.

I've been to see The Saturdays and I went to see Party At The Palace during the Queen's Jubilee but I was actually sitting in St James's Park watching it on the big TV screens they had. Both events were really good!

Assuming pop....

Although I'm not a fan I would have to say Robbie Williams at Knebworth 2003, which I think still holds the record as the UKs biggest ever concert.

Franz Ferdinand played a few intimate gigs around Scotland a couple of years ago. They played at a little club in my town with around 300 people in attendance and it was amazing. I'd seen them the previous year at the SECC which had been fantastic but this was really special.

I saw Mariah on the Charmbracelet our 2003. It was without doubt the best concert i'd ever been too. She was note perfect and crystal clear. When she sang Hero i was in bits. Amazing

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the days of Brian Jones.

Been to several Everly brothers concerts; their harmony is so perfect.

Led Zep at Knebworth, '79 - they were well past their best, but still wonderful to see live

Paul McCartney - NIA, 2003 - came on and just played - the songs I wanted to hear . . . magnificent

Rainbow, Donington 1980 - the first concert at that venue, and Blackmore was untouchable

Ozzy, Port Vale, 1981 - The only time I got to see my hero, Randy Rhoads, play live . . .

Rush at Wembley "Moving Pictures/Exit Stage Left" tour - late 1980 I think. Big show, big flavours, big smells.

Beverley Knight - Reading Hexagon - she completely 'owns' the stage and sings beautifully. Just before "Music City Soul" was released.

Richard Thompson - every gig has been superb, but particularly liked Anvil Basingstoke on "Sweet Warrior" tour

Thijs Van Leer Quartet - The Hautboy Ockham Surrey (small jazz gig) with Mark & Mike Mondesir on rhythm and Mike Del Ferro on keyboards. Awesome - I almost forgot to breathe... Nice!

Queen - Milton Keynes Bowl - (it's on DVD as Queen on Fire) - Hot Space tour.

most emotional? Dave Swarbrick coming on to guest with Fairport Convention, despite his ailing health
Peter Green returning to the big stage with Splinter Group at Guilfest - Clapton and all the others from the British Blues Boom were there in the crowd supporting him too. The late Cozy Powell was on drums too.

Jay Z at Wembley 3 yrs ago..he bought Nas out which topped it off well. Low point was Beyonce coming out. Also loved John Legend, Angie Stone and Jill Scott

Going back 40 years I used to go to many live performances.
One that sticks in my mind was the late, great Roy Orbison performing in St. Helens.
His singing was just the same as his records.
Then he introduced (the also late)Tammy Wynette who brought the house down with her distinctive voice
It was odd in a way because her speaking voice was very croaky
