Keisha will get no where in her solo career. Just boost this thread in a year or so. Mutya had massive interest, she was seen as the voice of the group. Groove Armada, Amy Winehouse and George Michael all worked with her. You don't get much bigger than Amy and George, yet did she last more than one record at Island? no and did she have any real success? no Keisha will be exactly the same. Keisha is no longer with Crown, so she won't have them trying to throw a spanner in the works. I think there's more chance of her having a successful solo career than there is of the Sugababes having another album after this. Keisha has the right drive and has a lot of support with influential people within the industry. She is also a pretty good songwriter and was the only current member to have a heavy involvement in the creative process. Interestingly, Heidi and Amelle had the support of management, and Keisha had the support of the record label. Keisha will have the same label and new management so she has every chance of succeeding. |

It's a pretty well documented fact that Crown Management screwed Mutya over with regards to her album.

Then she will either go back to Mutya, If Mutya is being serious and not just using this press as a push for her solo work as cynics would suggest and then we will see what will happen there.Oh and Keisha's solo deal at Island most probably ties in with contracts so she was given it most probably as a way of them avoiding a big pay out. However I have read all the Sugababes have the option of a solo album as part of the Island deal. |

I predict she will have one single that may go top 3. The follow up will flop and the album will be lucky to get past 200k sales. All these posters saying she will have a great career are just so wrong. Keisha's voice isn't anything special. In a band she was ok but as a solo artist it won't work. We have seen this so many times and when up against the likes of Pixie Lott, Alexandra, Duffy, Amy, Adele and Leona do you really think Keisha stands any chance at all?
Then she will either go back to Mutya, If Mutya is being serious and not just using this press as a push for her solo work as cynics would suggest and then we will see what will happen there.Oh and Keisha's solo deal at Island most probably ties in with contracts so she was given it most probably as a way of them avoiding a big pay out. However I have read all the Sugababes have the option of a solo album as part of the Island deal. I think vocal ability is only one factor in establishing a successful career. Other factors such as label investment, industry backing, promotion and the right material all play their part too. Keisha is lucky in that she has established a lot of connections over the years - she is well known for having an extremely focused and professional approach to her music and her hard work will probably pay off for her in the coming months. But only time will tell if she is a success or not. That also applies to the new line-up. Calvin Harris thinks that Keisha is better off out of it. I think he'll definitley be working with her: Quote:
had a very fun and insightful impromptu interview with Calvin Harris last night, but whilst I'm away transcribing it, I thought I would at least give you this little nugget as to what Calvin thinks about the whole Sugababes controversy...he's definitely Team Keisha.
EQ: I have to ask you since you're a prominent figure in pop music, what is your take on the whole Sugababes controversy?... Calvin Harris: I think, ultimately it's not about whether the band continues or the music continues. I think it's a moral thing. If in fact what's been said is true, if Keisha was pushed out behind her back...it's HER band! It's wrong. It's morally wrong. It's upsetting. It's ridiculous. There's not even a distinguishable brand as far as Sugababes goes anymore. That's changed over the past few years. They've become more American-ized. The best work that Sugababes did was when they were working with British producers. Things like "Overload" and "Stronger". Their first album was was amazing! "Get Sexy" is abysmal. It's one of the worst songs I've ever heard. If it was by anyone else, it would be as equally bad. It's just a bad song...if that is going to be their subsequent output, and I believe that's what it is, then they're **** anyway. I think Keisha's probably best out of it... |

WOW, usually Calvin Harris's comments make me laugh but I don't often agree with him but his comments are spot on, I'd rank Get Sexy along with No Way by Vanilla as one of the worst girlband songs of all time, and to be honest I'm not sure which I would choose as the overall worst, at least the Vanilla song was slightly funny, Get Sexy is just upsetting.

Where does it say or even hint he wants to work with her? At least we have Kanye on quote saying he wants to work with Amelle.

I hear what you're saying, but there are quite a few v successful female solo artists out there that are not great singers - Miley Cyrus, Rhianna, Taylor Swift to name a few. Neither Kyilie or Madonna are particularly great vocalists either. And then there are some great female vocalists that aren't as successful as their talent deserves- Beverley Knight for one.
I think he'll definitley be working with her: I totally agree with what you are saying. I hate it when people dont even give someone a chance and write them off with they wont ddo well because there so many others out that are better than them/just like them/they cannot compete with x,y,z etc. I think you should at least wait and hear a persons material before you write them off. If they get the material/promotion right Keisha could do well for herself. And I agree with Calvin Haris, get sexy is a terrible song. |

A tell-all autobiography would be a good move for Keisha. I'd buy it (would love some insider goss on the Sugababes). Can't say the same for any of her solo material should any materialise.

This is a public message board, I can speculate. But why did they not replace Keisha with another Black girl
They replaced her with a prettier mixed race girl. |

Was starting to think I was the only one that thinks this. I have always thought that Keisha was the best looking Sugababe. When she cut her hair short she looked absolutely stunning. Much prettier that Heidi, Amelle and Jade imo, although they are all attractive girls.

When is Keisha going to do a radio interview or something to give her side of the story? Amelle and Heidi didnt reveal too much in theirs
though Heidi came across quite well I thought but Amelle came across as bitter and twisted as she couldn't even bring herself to say Keisha's name.

Heidi is the more honest one...amelle just seems to snarl and jade is very shy but hopefully she'll become more confident soon

It would be funny if the original band reformed and we had The Original Sugababes and The New Sugababes? Who would own the rights to the songs?

The thing is you probably won't hear Keisha's side because it might possibly be in her best interests not to reveal it.
I mean when the news first hit and that News Of The World chap was tweeting about his talk with Keisha I got the impression there was an 'I can change' meeting that suggest that even she admits somewhat she was the problem. At the moment the Sugababes camp is saying 'there was a problem but we're not going into it', this vagueness might be best for Keisha possibly because if she does start bitching to press with her side and revealing stuff then that kinda opens the floodgates for the Suga-camp to start going into more detail with their side and maybe that detail might lose Keisha the sympathy she's getting. |

Have you seen what Mutya said about Heidi and Amelle? She called them snakes. I don't buy this 'poor little Amelle was bullied' bullshit. That girl is hard as nails.
