Speakers
Hi.
my son has turned the volume up on my 42" tv and has blown the speaker. Can i attach external speakers which will bypass the TV speaker and thus render it inactive. Thanks for help |

As long as any speakers you attach also have some form of amplification either built in or as an external unit then yes you can.
The simplest solution if ultimate sound quality is not top of the list is a pair of computer speakers with built in amplifier. Advantage of those is that they usually come witha 3.5mm jack plug attached to plug into a PC sound card but which will also plug into the headphone socket of the telly. If it has one of course. And if it does that should also mute the TV speakers for you. The alternative is some form of HiFi amp and speaker set up if you don't want to go the whole surround sound route of course. Somewhere like Richer Sounds should do you a neat amp/speaker package that should blow any PC type speaker system into the weeds. Mind you probably cost a bit more though.
